AYN RAND, MITTENS AND EDDIE MUNSTER

GOP TICKET FOR 2012 MITT HOWELL III AND EDDIE MUNSTER

What you need to know about this lunatic and those whom idolize or follow her.

Ayn Rand is a disgusting psychopath - and Paul Ryan sold his soul to her - as many radical tea baggers have. Know the truth about her - and why this sociopath's influence over the [tea baggers, teabillies, teapublicans] GOP [Republican GOP = Government of Pakistan] should horrify you.

I find your argument strewn with gaping defects in logic!

In 4 minutes, you’ll know what you need to. Then NFTOS asks that you please “Share” this video with others.

What You Need To Know About Paul Ryan

Follow the link to "thinkprogress'"  "12 things you should know about Paul Ryan".

PAUL RYAN

Personally, I'm glad Romney chose Ryan. They are two peas in a pod and this should convince the fence sitters to choose a side. Romney shows just how far to the right he is and how little he cares for anyone but the very rich.
And I Quote:
Ryan: “The reason I got involved in public service, by and large, if I had to credit one thinker, one person, it would be Ayn Rand..."

The above quote should scare the hell out of you!

I say wonderful choice Mittens...couldn't be better.........for the Obama campaign! Obama in 2012!

ROBME TAPS RYAN

RYAN'S PLAN

Ballsy move by Mittens to pick Ryan as his running mate.

The only Americans not pissed off by the current GOP would be the elderly, [as minorities, women and Dems loathe them] well that ended today when Robme tapped Ryan as his VP. Mr. Ryan is the man whom wants to stop "entitlements" [social security, medicare]. Within minutes of physically embracing his new running mate Paul Ryan on a Norfolk, Va., stage, Mitt Romney was distancing himself from Ryan’s controversial House budget proposal.

From Romney campaign talking points, distributed to reporters after Romney’s first appearance with his VP pick (emphasis added):

Does this mean Mitt Romney is adopting the Paul Ryan plan?

• Gov. Romney applauds Paul Ryan for going in the right direction with his budget, and as president he will be putting together his own plan for cutting the deficit and putting the budget on a path to balance.

• Romney’s administration will go through the budget line by line and ask two questions: Can we afford it? And, if not, should we borrow money from China to pay for it?

• Mitt Romney will start with the easiest cut of all: Obamacare, a trillion-dollar entitlement we don’t want and can’t afford.

But Romney appears to be reminding his party who’s boss, despite having selected conservatives’ dream candidate, cautioning that Ryan’s spot on the ticket doesn’t mean Romney is obligated to accept Ryan’s budget plan in its entirety.

What you need to know right now: This election is about values, and today Romney doubled down on his commitment to take our country back to the failed policies of the past.

Congressman Paul Ryan is best known as the author of a budget so radical The New York Times called it "the most extreme budget plan passed by a House of Congress in modern times." With Mitt Romney's support, Ryan would end Medicare as we know it and slash the investments we need to keep our economy growing -- all while cutting taxes for those at the very top.

Over the next few days, Romney's campaign and its allies will tell a very different story about Paul Ryan.

The Obama campaign responds:
Romney has strongly endorsed the Romney-Ryan Budget throughout his campaign - turning time and time again to the same tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans on the backs of middle-class families as Paul Ryan has championed in Congress. The Romney-Ryan Budget would turn Medicare into a voucher program, make severe cuts to programs like education that would hamper job creation, and repeal health care reform and key protections in Wall Street reform - all to pay for massive tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires.

Paul Ryan is the perfect pick to implement Mitt Romney’s agenda, since they are one and the same.

Hey Mitt, get the hell out of my pockets:

LIES AND SUPRESSION, A DAY IN THE LIFE OF GOP POLITICS

Below are two videos that should be a wakeup call to Americans, minorities, and women. An insider speaks candidly to the Rev on GOP politics - radical tea bagger style.

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

"We have no proof to support Robme’s welfare attack"

The ad is blatantly false; a fabrication critics say is aimed at stirring up resentment toward people of color. Yet, amid a flurry of negative speculation in the media over why Romney refuses to release his tax returns, the deceptive welfare attack has suddenly emerged at the very epicenter of the Republican’s struggling presidential campaign.
And yet, if the above videos are not pungent enough for you, listen to Eye of Newt “moon unit” Gingrich:

The number of Americans reliant on government assistance to buy food grew by more than 70 percent between 2008 – 2011, driven by a lack of jobs and the unavailability of credit as the country grappled with a near total economic collapse at the end of President George W. Bush’s second term.

Despite the nearly unprecedented economic pressure on working class Americans, President Obama did not scrap a rule that requires welfare beneficiaries to look for work. Instead, the administration gave states the option to waive federal welfare work rules if officials come up with a plan that can increase employment among the poor even more.

All this utter bullshit from the radical tea baggers, is there anything beneath them, is there a point where they stop the lies and deceit? Probably not, stay tuned and watch closely as this desperate group comes unglued before our very eyes.

Political Suicide Induced By Foot And Mouth Disease

Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul slipped away from the talking points while on the Faux News "Happening Now" program this morning and gave the campaign a brand new headache. This one may be fatal, as it affects whatever base Romney might still have.

While ostensibly on the program to hammer an ad being aired by a pro-Obama PAC in which a man blames Mitt Romney for losing his job and health insurance, and then his wife to cancer that would have been treated under his old insurance policy, Spokeswoman Saul said these words that were followed by a thunderclap of hands smacking foreheads around the nation.

“To that point, you know, if people had been in Massachusetts under Governor Romney’s health care plan, they would have had health care.”

Holy Crap Batman! The last thing conservatives want to talk about, even less than Romney's tax returns (because at least there, they have a common enemy in Sen. Harry Reid), is Romneycare's similarity to Obamacare. Saul's comment turns Romney into the conservative's worst nightmare! Their main complaint about Romney all the way back to the primary season was his implementation of Obamacare on a state level would make him an ineffective messenger on repealing the president's legislation.

The editor of RedState.com, influential conservative blogger Erick Erickson put it this way:
"This might just be the moment Mitt Romney lost the election. Wow."

As governor of Massachusetts, Romney implemented a health-care legislation that features the same individual mandate provision of President Barack Obama's legislation that has come under constant fire from conservatives since it passed in 2009.

Romney has, however, repeatedly stated that his health care legislation that featured the individual mandate would not be effective as a national model.

And here, on Faux News, the "fair and balanced" network favored by the conservatives Romney needs to turn out en masse if he has a shot at winning in November, one of his chief spokespeople goes and makes the argument that Romneycare should be implemented nationwide by saying these nice people should have been in Massachusetts to get the kind of care they needed.

FYI: These are the very same provisions Romney has vowed to repeal from Obamacare if he is elected.

SNAFU: This latest self-inflicted wound comes the day after Romney referred to the Sikhs murdered by a white supremacist in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, on Sunday as "sheiks" and the same day as the Huffington Post released a story showing Romney started Bain Capital with money from families with ties to Central American death squads.
And the hits just keep on coming!

SIKH SHOOTER WAS A WHITE SUPREMACIST

Several reports out this morning indicate that Wade Michael Page, the army veteran who is suspected of killing six and injuring three at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, WI, over the weekend, was a white supremacist and a “skinhead.” According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Page — who was killed in a firefight with police — even played in a white-power band that had ties to neo-Nazis.

Though police have not yet named a motive in the attack, all but one of those shot were Sikh adherents. The other was a police officer.

Should law enforcement confirm Page’s ties to white supremacy, and if that proves to be the motive of the attack, it will fit with a growing trend in this country. Hate groups — groups that expressly advocate against a religion, race, or sexual orientation — have been on the rise in the United States, rising steadily since 2000.

And the targeting of Sikhs is not new either. Often, the hate crimes against Sikhs originate out of misdirected Islamophobia: Sikh men can most easily be identified by their long beards and turbans, which they wear according to religious doctrine. Assailants will mistake these men for Muslims. According to a report by Reuters, Sikh groups have seen huge spikes in hate crimes since September 11th, 2001, right at the same time when anti-Muslim sentiment in the country began to grow rapidly.

In April of this year, over 90 members of Congress signed onto a letter (PDF) asking Attorney General Eric Holder and FBI Director Robert Mueller to closely monitor what they called a “growing concern” of hate crimes against Sikh people:

“Numerous reports have documented how those practicing the Sikh religion are often targeted for hate violence because of their religiously-mandated turbans — i.e. because of their Sikh identity, regardless of whether the attacker understands the victim to be Sikh or not,” the said lawmakers, led by U.S. Representative Joseph Crowley, a New York Democrat.

Though it is the fifth largest religion in the world, Sikhism is a small religious minority in the United States — there are roughly 500,000 observers of the religion, which originated in the Punjab area of South Asia, in the US. There has only been one Sikh member of Congress —Dalip Singh Saund, who represented Southern California in the late 1950s and early 60s.

In a press conference today, Oak Creek law enforcement confirmed that the gunman’s weapon, a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, was obtained legally.

Ann Coulter Has A Source

Ann Coulter To Hannity: ‘I Have An Unnamed Source In Kenya Who Says That Obama Was Born In Kenya’

Ann Coulter appeared on Sean Hannity‘s show tonight to react to Senator Harry Reid‘s continued insistence that Mitt Romney has not paid taxes in a decade, despite not having the facts to back it up. Coulter mockingly responded to Reid by saying, “I have an unnamed source in Kenya who says that Obama was born in Kenya.”

Coulter claimed that President Obama and his political team have a history of disqualifying his opponents based on issues in their personal lives, citing examples from when Obama ran for political office in Illinois. She even brought up mainstream media news stories focusing on the personal lives of the McCains and Palins during the 2008 campaign.

Hannity agreed with Coulter and said that the Obama team has been bringing up so many irrelevant side issues because “he can’t run on his record.” He asked Coulter if the attacks on Romney can work. Coulter doubted it would.

“Not with so many people unemployed. I mean, the Obama campaign message is, ‘You can vote for the guy who put millions of people out of work, quadrupled the deficit, wrecked American health care, or you can vote for that really mean guy whose wife owns a horse.’”

And speaking of Ann Romney‘s horse, Hannity and Coulter brushed off a new add from MoveOn.org speaking from the perspective of Rafalca herself. Coulter maintained that Romney should not release his tax records, because she said it would be giving in to Obama’s “modus operandi” of making a big deal out of something “even if nothing’s there.”

WESTERN UNION TELEGRAM

KENYA CALLING - ANNOUNCING BIRTH OF BARACK

Because Barack Obama parents knew that he would become POTUS one day, they, in the biggest conspiracy to ever hit America - telegrammed a fake Hawaii birth certificate from Kenya.

Try as they may, Republicans just can’t seem to kick their birther habit.

The latest GOPer to dabble in the ridiculous fantasy that President Obama wasn’t actually born in the United States: Rep. Steve King (R-IA).

During a tele-townhall meeting late last week, King was asked about his views on whether President Obama is a natural-born American citizen. The Iowa Congressman noted that his staff had investigated the matter and found birth announcements in the two Hawaii newspapers the week after Obama’s birth. However, King went on to float the absurd notion that his parents “might’ve announced that by telegram from Kenya.”

KING: We went down into the Library of Congress and we found a microfiche there of two newspapers in Hawaii each of which had published the birth of Barack Obama. It would have been awfully hard to fraudulently file the birth notice of Barack Obama being born in Hawaii and get that into our public libraries and that microfiche they keep of all the newspapers published. That doesn’t mean there aren’t some other explanations on how they might’ve announced that by telegram from Kenya. The list goes on. But drilling into that now, even if we could get a definitive answer and even if it turned out that Barack Obama was conclusively not born in America, I don’t think we could get that case sold between now and November.

The fact that this “issue” even still needs to be addressed is beyond silly. If Obama’s birth certificate itself isn’t enough to convince the likes of Steve King and Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio about where the president was born, no amount of evidence will.

OLD SCHOOL CALLS OUT TEA BAGGERS

Old School GOP er.

Congressman Richard Hanna (R-NY) is fed up with the GOP.

Hanna singled out Michele Bachmann’s “suggestion that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin be investigated to see if she has ties to Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood” as an example of a party that has gone off the rails.

The Syaracuse Post-Standard has the story:

“I have to say that I’m frustrated by how much we — I mean the Republican Party — are willing to give deferential treatment to our extremes in this moment in history,” he told The Post-Standard editorial board.

…“We render ourselves incapable of governing when all we do is take severe sides…” he said. “If all people do is go down there and join a team, and the team is invested in winning and you have something that looks very similar to the shirts and the skins, there’s not a lot of value there.”

…“I would say that the friends I have in the Democratic Party I find … much more congenial — a little less anger,” he said.

BuzzFeed reports that Hanna is not alone and “moderate members of the House GOP conference feel that Boehner, who has struggled with an often raucous and openly defiant right wing, has forced them to go along with conservative demands but has provided them little in return.”

This isn’t the first time that Hanna, who was first elected to Congress in 2010, has been critical of the Republican party. At at women’s rights rally in March he advised the crowd to “contribute your money to people who speak out on your behalf, because the other side — my side — has a lot of it.”

From The Mind Of A Tea Bagger

BILLBOARD COMPARES OBAMA TO AURORA SHOOTER

Billboard Compares POTUS To Killer

A billboard in Idaho is comparing President Obama to James Holmes, the 24-year-old accused of killing 12 people in an Aurora, Colorado movie theater. The electronic sign, sponsored by the libertarian-leaning Ralph Smeed Foundation, says:

“Kills 12 in a movie theater with assault rifle, everyone freaks out. Kills thousands with foreign policy, wins Nobel Peace Prize.” “We’re all outraged over that killing in Aurora, Colorado, but we’re not outraged over the boys killed in Afghanistan,” a member of the group explained, adding, “We’re not saying that Obama is a lunatic.”

TAX FACTS

FOOD STAMPS

If you were to ask 100 people how much they believed a married person with one child would pay in taxes, you'd likely get 100 different answers. Following that, if you asked them to explain the breakdown of where that tax money went, specifically to SNAP (formerly the food stamp program), it would be fair to assume nearly all would be unable to muster a coherent response.

Many people might be surprised to learn that the average contribution to the food stamp program is a little over 10 cents, or one thin dime, a day. Let's look at the numbers.

A married person with one child making $50,000 a year will pay exactly $3,820 in federal taxes. Of those, $2100 is allocated to Social Security, and $725 is distributed Medicare. This leaves a whopping $995 to be used to pay for programs administrated by the Federal government. That money is broken down below in its entirety:

· National Defense $247.75 / 24.9%
· Health care -- $235.81 / 23.7%
· Job and Family Security -- $190.05 / 19.1%
· Net Interest -- $73.63 / 8.1%
· Veterans Benefits -- $44.77 / 4.5%
· Education and Job Training -- $35.82 / 3.6%
· Natural Resources, Energy, and Environment -- $19.90 / 2.0%
· Immigration, Law Enforcement, and Administration of Justice -- $19.90 / 2.0%
· International Affairs -- $15.92 / 1.6%
· Science, Space, and Technology Programs -- $9.95 / 1.0%
· Agriculture -- $6.96 / 0.7%
· Community, Area, and Regional Development -- $4.98 / 0.5%
· Response to Natural Disasters -- $3.98 / 0.4%
· Additional Government Programs -- $78.61 / 7.9%

The category needed for examination is "Job and Family Security", which comprises 19.1% of all of the $995 paid in. In the future I will examine other categories in more detail. The breakdown of the $190.05 is listed below:

· Unemployment insurance -- $22.88 / 2.3%
· Food and nutrition assistance -- $36.82 / 3.7%
· Housing assistance -- $19.90 / 2.0%
· Earned income, Making Work Pay, and child tax credits -- $32.84 / 3.3%
· Supplemental Security Income -- $18.91 / 1.9%
· Federal military and civilian employee retirement and disability -- $43.78 / 4.4%
· Child care, foster care, and adoption support -- $5.97 / 0.6%
· Temporary Assistance for Needy Families -- $6.96 / 0.7%
· Railroad retirement and additional income security -- $4.98 / 0.5%

As is evidenced above, despite a person paying $191.05 for "Job and Family Security", only $36.82 of that is going towards "Food and nutrition assistance."

Therefore, a married person with one child who makes $50,000 a year will pay $36.82 in taxes to ensure the food stamp program is fully funded. But wait, there is more. That $36.82 is not only for food stamps. Indeed, that money is allocated to two other programs that include the school lunch program, and the special supplemental food program for women, infants and children. Keep in mind, this comprises the totality of the costs associated with the program including administrative.

The breakdowns for how the $36.82 is allocated is not readily available, but do the math.

$36.82 divided by 365 days = 10 cents a day.

Consider the context. A person who is paid $50,000 a year earns, on average, $136 every 24 hours. Meaning that in a little over six hours, in the example where a person is paid for every hour of their life in perpetuity, that person would be able to pay for their entire yearly contribution to ensure that hungry people are fed.

By the way if you are curious as to what percentage 10 cents is while being compared to $136 a day the number is: 0.0735%

All of this information, and more, is freely available to the public and can be found on The White House's official website.

NEEDS

I don't need a government to give me morals, my folks did that. I don't need a government to dictate my faith, my conscience does that. We don't need men telling humans what they can and can't do with their own person.

What I need is a government that keeps roads safe, waters clean, fresh air to breath, safe food to eat. I need a government that ensures that the resources of the only planet known in the universe that is capable of supporting life are protected and conserved for future generations. I need a government that protects my loved ones from wanton predation by those who would steal and pillage the home and property that I've worked hard for and invested in, and also stealing our livelihoods from us.

I need a government that is blind like lady justice; one that ensures that the rule of law is applied with fairness and equality of opportunity, because they are smart enough to understand the concept of the chain only being as strong as its weakest link and that we all do better when we all do well.

I need a government that will ensure that the nation that I live in is not some sub standard, third world, oligarchic, theocratic, doctorial, plutocratic, thug ruled state in which only those with wealth or might of arms have access to basic rights and necessities.

I need a government that ensures the nation in which I and my family live is not overrun with the desperation of poverty, disease and crime.

If, in anyone's mind those needs make me wrong, evil, a liberal, a democrat, a socialist or communist.....I'm perfectly okay with that. In most intellectual minds and those of most sentient, logical beings, understand that its these beliefs that make a nation stronger not weaker, and if your in objection to my needs - then I guess that makes you a tea bagger?

Mittens Makes Many Friends While Visiting England

Yesterday British Prime Minster David Cameron, leader of the Conservative Party, shot back at Mitt Romney for saying London’s preparation for the Olympics was “disconcerting.” “We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world. Of course it’s easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere,” Cameron said referring to Romney running the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

Later, London Mayor Boris Johnson, also a Tory, called out Romney in a speech at an Olympics event before to tens of thousands of people in London’s Hyde Park:

JOHNSON: I’ve never seen anything like this in all my life. … people are coming from around the world and they are seeing us and they are seeing the greatest city on earth. And there are some people who are coming from around the world who don’t yet know about all the preparations we’ve done to get London ready in the last seven years. I hear there’s a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we’re ready. He wants to know whether we’re ready. Are we ready? Yes we are!

In what’s been widely panned as “Romney Shambles,” the presumptive GOP presidential nominee’s trip to Europe hasn’t gotten off to a great start. One senior British official told the Guardian of Romney’s Olympic comments: “What a total shocker. We are speechless,” while Daily Mail politics editor James Chapman quoted a source saying that Romney was “apparently devoid of charm, warmth, humor or sincerity” in meetings with British officials.

British media has also reacted harshly to Romney. “Mr Romney is credited with rescuing the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, now he’s appeared to question London’s readiness to host a successful olympics,” the BBC’s George Alagiah said, adding “If [Romney is] here to make friends, he’s got a funny way of showing it.”

Additionally: Foreign Policy’s Joshua Keating noted today that in his book “No Apology,” Romney belittled England as “just a small island” that “doesn’t make things that people in the rest of the world want to buy.”

The Daily Kos finds Romney in 2007 calling the U.K. a “second tier” nation.

All Mittens needs to do now is to insult the mother Queen before he leaves – then he can say he has pissed of the entire land. It didn’t take long for England to get pissed off with the tea baggers, if this keeps up, the entire world shall despise these troglodytes as much as America does.

HEY NUMB NUTS

Tea Party Congressman Calls McCain ‘Numb Nuts’ For Criticizing Bachmann’s Anti-Muslim Witch Hunt.

Tea Party Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX) lashed out at Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) for criticizing him and his fellow conservative members for suggesting that a senior aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood. Gohmert is part of a small group of five Republican members, led by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), who are demanding an investigation into whether Clinton deputy chief of staff Huma Abedin is connected to the group.

“Normally you don’t go blast somebody on the floor who is a colleague on the same side of the aisle unless you touch base with them,” Gohmert complained during an appearance on the Dennis Miller Show on Tuesday, referring to McCain’s denunciation of the group’s allegations as “nothing less than an unwarranted and unfounded attack.” The fiery Texan then launched into a personal attack against McCain, calling him “numb nuts” and suggesting the Muslim Brotherhood is now influencing him too:

GOHMERT: Well, it’s obvious that John McCain didn’t even read the letter because of what he said in accusing Michele and us of making these horrible accusations. There were five letters and there were many things that are stated that are facts in each letter. And I wish some of these numb nuts would go out and read the letter before they make these horrible allegations about the horrible accusations we’re making. But we also know that John McCain himself had said back in the early stages of stuff going on in Egypt that he was, in his words, “unalterably opposed to helping the Muslim Brotherhood.” Well, obviously the unalterable person has been altered, so he is okay with it now.

Gohmert has long believed that Muslim extremist organizations have infiltrated the American government. At a recent Congressional hearing, he furiously questioned Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano about whether Mohamed Elibiary, a member of DHS’s Combatting Violent Extremism Working Group (CVE) and a Muslim is part of a terrorist organization.

While Bachmann and her small group of supporters are doubling down on their attacks, a growing number of Republicans are distancing themselves from the charges.

Two Douche Bags, And A Partridge In A Pare Tree

Newt Gingrich came to Michele Bachmann’s defense during an event at Politico Tuesday morning, insisting that she and the four Congress people who have been criticized by other Republicans for implying that a senior aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, are raising legitimate concerns about the groups’ efforts to infiltrate the American government.

“There weren’t allegations, there was a question,” Gingrich insisted. “The question ought to be asked across the board, what’s the role of the Muslim Brotherhood, what are its various networks and to what degree does it now influence the United States?” Gingrich claimed that senior members of his own party — including Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI), House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-MI) — have bought into an “elite” culture of “political correctness” that prevents any discussion about radical Islam:

JIM VANDEHEI (POLITICO): So you think the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated the American government?

GINGRICH: I think it’s worth knowing and I think it tells you something about the level of hysteria attacking these five members of Congress….I would ask the question, what is it they’re afraid of learning?

The former House Speaker lamented that most Republicans, including the party’s presidential nominee Mitt Romney, have resisted investigating the influence of radical Islam on the government and singled out former primary opponent Rick Santorum as a leader on the issue.

FAUX NEWS HAS THE ANSWER

Costumes Banned From Movie Theaters

I guess the problem wasn't unregulated guns or mental health, perhaps the costumes did it.

After the massacre at a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises, some folks on Faux News have suggested banning costumes at movie screenings. AMC has already moved to do so:

AMC Theatres said it will not let any guests in costumes or face-covering masks into the theaters, and issued a ban on fake weapons. The company added that anyone wanting a refund in light of this new policy will be granted one. “We are taking necessary precautions to ensure our guests who wish to enjoy a movie this weekend can do so with as much peace of mind as possible in these circumstances,” AMC Theatres said in a news release.

I get this as a matter of company practice, and the ban on fake weapons may even be sensible, both from the perspective of preventing people from walking in the door with the real things disguised as fakes (although as Aurora tells us, that’s hardly the only way to get guns and gas into a theater) and from the question of where they put them once the screening starts. But it does make me pretty sad to think that theaters would start banning costumes altogether. Whatever a lone murderer does, the impulse to play, and dress up, and pay creative homage to culture you love is not the problem here.

UPDATE: AMC has clarified their policy: they’re just going to ban “face-concealing masks” and prop weapons. I understand the desire to make folks feel comfortable at screenings, but I hope with time, they’ll be able to relax on any costume elements.

Earlier this week we saw the Robme camp slamming the President with regards to comments made about businesses. Robme has taken his cue from the dead Andrew Breitbart on how to manipulate a video to suit your radical ideology.

And now the story as it truly unfolded:

Speaking Of Oxygen Thieves

Dipshit, Batshit Crazy Michelle Bachman

On the floor of the Senate yesterday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) repudiated Rep. Michele Bachmann’s (R-MN) McCarthyesque witch-hunt to root out the alleged Muslim Brotherhood infiltration of the U.S. government. The flap started when Bachmann all but directly accused Secretary Hillary Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin of working on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood in a letter with four colleagues to the State Department’s Inspector General demanding an investigation.

While some Democrats have taken Bachmann to task for the charges, some Republicans, like House Intelligence Committee Chair Mike Rogers (MI), lauded her witch-hunt.

Enter McCain, who put his foot down today and chided his fellow Republicans for the accusations against Abedin. McCain brought up his personal relationship with Abedin, adding that she “represents what is best about America.” He noted Bachmann’s letter and its sourcing to a report from notorious Islamophobe Frank Gaffney‘s Center for Security Policy (CSP). He then said:

To say that the accusations made in both documents are not substantiated by the evidence they offer is to be overly polite and diplomatic about it. It is far better, and more accurate, to talk straight: These allegations about Huma Abedin, and the report from which they are drawn, are nothing less than an unwarranted and unfounded attack on an honorable citizen, a dedicated American, and a loyal public servant.

Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) lead the charge against Bachmann, demanding “credible, substantial evidence” to back up her accusations. Bachmann then penned a long letter responding to Ellison, which he rightly dismissed as “16 pages worth of repeated false allegations. Just regurgitated nonsense.”

But Bachmann’s response to Ellison did adjust her sources. While many of the 59 footnotes are still dubious — such as those linking to the Islamophobe Steve Emerson’s group, the Investigative Project — she dropped the sole source cited in her initial letter to the State Department: Gaffney‘s CSP. In his request for information, Ellison had noted that Gaffney — a sometime Bachmann adviser and booster — had been “widely discredited.” McCain, who said he had worked with CSP and considers Gaffney a “friend” nonetheless called the accusations in the report “scurrilous.”

UPDATE: Bachmann responds in a statement on her website: “The letters my colleagues and I sent on June 13 to the Inspectors General of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice and the Department of State – and the follow up letter I wrote to Rep. Ellison on July 13 – are unfortunately being distorted.”

Palin Was The Choice

Food for thought:

This is how much Mitt Romney sucks. This is how much trouble he's in. McCain's camp took one look at him and realized he was too big a risk to put on the ticket so they went with the "Disasta from Alaska" instead. Because country first, after all.

McCain chose the half-witted hockey mom snowbillie, with a knocked-up teen daughter over Mitt Romney.

Robme’s Donor Does Business With Chinese Mob

Things are getting awkward for Sheldon Adelson, the casino magnate who pledged to spend a “limitless” amount of money to get Mitt Romney elected. Adelson’s latest woes stem from business practices surrounding his lucrative casino in Macau, the only Chinese city with legalized gambling.

The Macau operation has long been under scrutiny but a new in-depth investigation from ProPublica and PBS focused on allegations of improper, and perhaps in some cases illegal, business dealings by Adelson’s Las Vegas Sands company in China. While focusing on the possibility that Sands violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act with a $700,000 payment to a Chinese associate, PBS also released documents that bolstered accusations of business ties between Adelson’s shop and Chinese organized crime figures.

PBS reports that Sands was clear that, in order to drive business from mainland China to their Macau casino, they would need to use “junkets” — trips arranged by private companies to ferry high-stakes gamblers to Macau:

Among the junket companies under scrutiny is a concern that records show was financed by Cheung Chi Tai, a Hong Kong businessman.

Cheung was named in a 1992 U.S. Senate report as a leader of a Chinese organized crime gang, or triad. A casino in Macau owned by Las Vegas Sands granted tens of millions of dollars in credit to a junket backed by Cheung,
documents show.

Cheung did not respond to requests for comment.

Another document says that a Las Vegas Sands subsidiary did business with Charles Heung, a well-known Hong Kong film producer who was identified as an office holder in the Sun Yee On triad in the same 1992 Senate report. Heung, who has repeatedly denied any involvement in organized crime, did not return phone calls.

Because Nevada gambling authorities forbid doing any business with organized crime, Sands’s Las Vegas gambling licenses could hang in the balance. (Adelson and his company refused to comment for the PBS story.) But Adelson has other issues with his China operations.

In 2001, Adelson allegedly helped derail House Republican measure opposing Beijing’s Olympic bid due to human rights issues. “The bill will never see the light day, Mr. Mayor. Don’t worry about it,” he reportedly told Beijing’s mayor after phoning then-House Majority Whip Tom Delay. Sands went on to receive its lucrative casino license from China.

Part of Adelson’s Chinese dealings, which came under federal scrutiny in 2011, went through a non-profit called the Adelson Center for U.S.-China Enterprise. According to a WikiLeaks cable flagged by Salon, the association, which was meant to facilitate business between the U.S. and China, was shut down by China after some “missteps” with “funds transfer mechanisms” used by Sands. Unlike competitors, the cable said, Sands lobbied Beijing directly instead of going through Macau authorities. Adelson and Sands deny any wrongdoing related to the federal investigation.

Adelson’s many interests in politics are sometimes business-oriented and, on other issues, purely driven by ideology. Either way, his spending is massive. Adelson pledged to join forces with the Koch brothers to take down President Obama. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) — a top surrogate for Romney’s campaign — said of Adelson’s Chinese business interests and political giving that “maybe in a round-about way, foreign money is coming into an American campaign, political campaigns.”

SHOW US THE MONEY

Mitt, Release Your Tax Info

Mitt Romney appeared on Fox & Friends Monday morning to respond to the growing number of conservatives who are calling on the former Massachusetts governor to release more of his tax returns.

At least eight Republicans have urged Romney to publicize the records and put the issue behind him, but the candidate is sticking to his guns. The public will see just two years of returns and no more, Romney said, before appearing to admit that the records may contain something politically damaging:

ROMNEY: The Obama people keep on wanting more and more and more. More things to pick through, more things for their opposition research to try make a mountain out of and to distort and to be dishonest about. We’re going to put out two years of tax returns.

Republicans are also raising alarms about Romney’s returns. “The fact is, there are a couple of years he may not have paid any taxes,” MSNBC host and former Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough predicted during Monday’s Morning Joe. “Maybe he’s concerned about that. But if it’s going to come out, he needs to get it out now so he has a couple of months to explain it.”

MR. NO APOLOGY WANTS A APOLOGY

BROCK LAUGHING AT MITT ROBME

HERE IS YOUR APOLOGY ASSHAT:

Like all bullies, Mitt Robme can dish it out, but he can’t take it. There has always been a perception surrounding Robme that he has a glass jaw. He is soft. He can’t take the heat, and he cracks under pressure. The Robme campaign’s pathological demands for retractions and apologies lend credibility to this perception.

What Robme and his campaign don’t seem to understand is that they are playing in the big leagues now. His opponent has been through all of this before and won. Robme’s attacks on Obama look like an ice cream social compared to the political war that was the 2008 Democratic primary against Hillary Clinton.

The cherry on top of the whole debacle came when the tea bagging nominee completely sabotaged his whole performance and gave the media a bigger headline, by refusing to release more tax returns.

Romney tried to claim the moral high ground by demanding an apology. The Obama campaign responded with a new TV ad airing in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia hitting the Republican on Bain, outsourcing, and his offshore bank accounts.

Mitt Robme didn’t get his apology, but he did get a giant fuck you from the Obama campaign.
