"LAND OF THE SPREE" - "WOMEN REPELLANT"

On HBO's Real Time last night Bill Maher people should stop trying to blame video games or a lack of religion for mass shooting attacks, and instead focus on how lacking many of the culprits are when it comes to a love-life.

“This is a pattern no one is talking about: mass killers are almost always male, and almost always women-repellent,” Maher argued. “And what must make it even worse for them is America. Because if you live in America, it just looks like everyone is getting laid all the time.”

Maher noted that Chris Harper Mercer, Timothy McVeigh, and Adam Lanza — among others — were either virgins, constantly single, or both. And they also tended to complain about those facts in explaining their actions.

“They may have been on Prozac because they were feeling blue,” Maher said. “But you know what else was feeling blue? Their balls.”

Railing against what he called an obsession with cell phones in general on Friday, Real Time host Bill Maher was particularly irked that young fans of Pope Francis marked his visit by taking pictures and “selfies.”

“Someone should’ve told those kids, you’re never gonna get another chance to actually meet this man,” Maher argued. “And also, for God’s sake kids, never turn your back on a priest.”

Maher also displayed a photo of fans lining the streets holding up their phones to take pictures of the pontiff as he passed through.

“They’ve got maybe 10 seconds to actually see their hero,” he said of the crowd. “And they’re choosing to give that up to view him through a phone. Gosh, if there only existed some sort of profession whose job it was to take great photos of big events so that you could enjoy the moment. We could call them photo-graphers.”

He also slammed people caught taking “selfies” during what should be big moments, like trying to avoid being gored by a bull or during their own wedding ceremony.

“There’s a photographer standing right behind you,” he said to the couple. “Can’t you put your phone away and be fully present for this? You’re getting married. It might be the last time you look into each others’ eyes and smile.”

However, Maher said, his disgust with the “selfie” phenomenon was not because of his age.

“I understand it. It’s not hard to understand,” he insisted. “It’s just fucking stupid.”

THE VOTES ARE IN FLIP JOHN KLINE

And the flip a district winner is - Rep. John Kline of Minnesota.

Bill Maher closed his season premiere on Friday with a scathing takedown of incumbent Rep. John Kline (Tin Foil Hat Society Member from MN), calling on his viewers to help vote him out of office in November.

“More than anyone else we could find, he embodies the easily-swayed whores and sellouts who keep this town running,”

Maher said that unlike someone like Rep. Louie Gohmert (Tin Foil Hat Society Member from TX) — who Maher predicted would one day be “arrested naked masturbating in the street” — Kline is a “silent threat” voters do not see coming. He also predicted that Kline would dismiss his remarks since he’s part of the “Hollywood elite,” but that voters should realize the issue is not about him. “It’s about how Americans have had crummy, corrupt representation for so long they’ve just accepted these people hanging around,” he argued. “Except they don’t have to. They’re your representatives, not your relatives.”

Minnesotan's, wake the hell up and vote this numbmutz out.

DUPED BY DUCK DYNASTY

The last two months I was actually in Real Time withdrawals, speaking for myself only, shows that obliterate the right wing nut job - are my favorite. So it was good to have Bill Maher back on HBO last night.

In his closing segment, Maher went on about New Years resolutions and in "New Rules", Maher gave America some guidance on what to do in the new year.

Some resolutions for America were for the War in Afghanistan to a more productive Congress to Duck Dynasty, especially to “stop hanging onto stupid stuff long after it’s relevant just because it’s tradition” like the penny, the Drug War, Daylight Savings Time, and having two Dakotas [North, South].

Maher compared Afghanistan to a bad relationship, suggesting it’s like “dating a girl for thirteen years who tried to kill you every day.” He also took on Congress for being less productive than ever and the country at large for being behind the rest to the point where “there are girls on 16 and Pregnant who aren’t this consistently late.”

But he saved his sharpest barbs for last, telling people to “be more cynical” and “less easily fooled,” citing the Duck Dynasty team to make his case. He showed a picture of them before they had the hit show, calling them “preppy assholes at the golf club” putting on an act. He concluded, “Take a hint, tea partiers, this is what the Republican party is always doing to you.”
