When Roger West first launched the progressive political blog "News From The Other Side" in May 2010, he could hardly have predicted the impact that his venture would have on the media and political debate. As the New Media emerged as a counterbalance to established media sources, Roger wrote his copious blogs about national politics, the tea party movement, mid-term elections, and the failings of the radical right to the vanguard of the New Media movement. Roger West's efforts as a leading blogger have tremendous reach. NFTOS has led the effort to bring accountability to mainstream media sources such as FOX NEWS, Breitbart's "Big Journalism. Roger's breadth of experience, engaging style, and cultivation of loyal readership - over 92 million visitors - give him unique insight into the past, present, and future of the New Media and political rhetoric that exists in our society today. CHARLIE CRIST LEAVES THE DARK SIDE FOR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Charlie Crist signed papers changing to Democrat at a Christmas reception at the White House.

Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, who was elected the state's chief executive as a Teapublican and then ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate as an independent, announced on Twitter that he's switching to the Democratic Party.

The announcement Friday night fanned speculation that Crist would seek to regain his old job from TeapublicanGov. Rick Scott in 2014.

Crist sent out a tweet that said, "Proud and honored to join the Democratic Party in the home of President @Barack Obama!"

The tweet included a photo of a smiling Crist and his wife Carole as he held up a Florida voter registration application. Crist signed the papers changing his affiliation from independent to Democrat at a Christmas reception at the White House. President Barack Obama greeted the news with a fist bump.
"I've had friends for years tell me, `You know Charlie, you're a Democrat and you don't know it,'" Crist told the newspaper Friday night.

He cited the Teapublican Party's shift to the right on a range of issues, including immigration, education and the environment.

Crist was elected Florida governor in 2006 while in the GOP. As he moved to run for the U.S. Senate in 2010, he faced a tough primary challenge from the right and bolted the GOP to run as an independent. He lost a three-way Senate contest in 2010 to Teapublican Marco Rubio.

Crist, 56, spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., that nominated Obama for a second term and campaigned for his re-election.

Crist's decision to switch to a Democrat will increase speculation that he intends to challenge Scott, a former hospital chain CEO who has struggled with low favorability ratings since taking office. Crist has already criticized Scott for refusing to extend early voting despite pleas from U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson and other Democrats.

But it is unlikely that Crist would get a clear path to the Democratic nomination. Former State Sen. Nan Rich, D-Weston, has already jumped into the race and former Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink could run. Sink barely lost the 2010 governor's race to Scott. Some Democrats remain wary of Crist and even outgoing Florida Democratic Party Chairman Rod Smith has joked that just because someone joins the congregation, "you don't make them the preacher."

Steve Schale, a Democratic political consultant who worked on Obama's Florida campaign, called Crist a "viable Democrat."
"He earned his stripes when he supported the president," Schale said.

But Schale predicted that if Crist runs for governor, he would likely get a challenge from Sink and other Democrats and would have to endure a hard-fought primary.

Teapublicans in recent weeks have already ramped up their criticism of Crist and have pointed out that in the past he was critical of Obama and once described himself as a Teapublican in the mold of President Ronald Reagan and Crist's predecessor as governor, Jeb Bush.
"Charlie Crist's first official act as a Democrat was to tell a lie about why he is now pretending to be one," the Florida GOP said in a statement early Saturday. "The truth is that this self-professed, Ronald Reagan Teapublicanonly abandoned his pro-life, pro-gun, conservative principles in 2010 after he realized that Republicans didn't want to send him to Washington D.C. as a senator, especially after he proved he couldn't do the job as governor."

Rick Wilson, a Florida-based Teapublican consultant, predicted that Crist would have to spend the next 14 months explaining how his switch to Democrat was something beyond just his own political ambitions.

NEEDS

I don't need a government to give me morals, my folks did that. I don't need a government to dictate my faith, my conscience does that. We don't need men telling humans what they can and can't do with their own person.

What I need is a government that keeps roads safe, waters clean, fresh air to breath, safe food to eat. I need a government that ensures that the resources of the only planet known in the universe that is capable of supporting life are protected and conserved for future generations. I need a government that protects my loved ones from wanton predation by those who would steal and pillage the home and property that I've worked hard for and invested in, and also stealing our livelihoods from us.

I need a government that is blind like lady justice; one that ensures that the rule of law is applied with fairness and equality of opportunity, because they are smart enough to understand the concept of the chain only being as strong as its weakest link and that we all do better when we all do well.

I need a government that will ensure that the nation that I live in is not some sub standard, third world, oligarchic, theocratic, doctorial, plutocratic, thug ruled state in which only those with wealth or might of arms have access to basic rights and necessities.

I need a government that ensures the nation in which I and my family live is not overrun with the desperation of poverty, disease and crime.

If, in anyone's mind those needs make me wrong, evil, a liberal, a democrat, a socialist or communist.....I'm perfectly okay with that. In most intellectual minds and those of most sentient, logical beings, understand that its these beliefs that make a nation stronger not weaker, and if your in objection to my needs - then I guess that makes you a tea bagger?

NFTOS READERS

We here at NFTOS are about transparency, truth, and debunking the radical ideology of those well right of center. We advocate for the Democratic, progressive movement and ideology. When I started my media firm almost two years ago, I never envisioned the turnout or success that NFTOS would achieve.

I started blogging for many reasons, foremost I was both vexed and aggrieved at a movement called "the tea party" movement. I couldn't just sit back idly by and allow these radical, racist, Gadsden flag stealers to go on without being repudiated!

Managing staff, writers, researchers, and site maintenance takes much time, and the fruits of our labor is upon us.

The below snapshot picture taken during a horseshoe meeting this afternoon is a milestone, for not only NFTOS, but for Democrats across this great land.

NFTOS BLOG STATS

NFTOS is quickly approaching 20 million hits/readers/page loads to our blog - in less than 24 months. Our voice is loud, our determination has never been more resolved, and with throughput like this, our mission is more defined.

Clearly our message is getting out. When we drill down these statistics, over 2 million readers have us either bookmarked or RSS feed to some type of device. This speaks volumes!

The intent of this blog is to thank you, our loyal readers, for our success is nothing without you! While there are bad apples out there whom disagree with us, and send us death threats and hate mail - and that's fine, "mission accomplished"! But an overwhelming amount of you, over 88% agree with our message, and at the end of the day, we have never been prouder to bring you NFTOS.

Thank You Progressives, be proud, and we greatly appreciate you visiting our site!

Connect the Dots

If you think republicans are scheming and conniving. You'd be right. This radical tea movement is not just about busting unions, its a much bigger plan too emaciate the Democratic society as a whole. NFTOS is going to leave you with Rachael Maddow's great special report which shall include several clips from her show last evening. While we know this is very long, its imperative that all liberal, progressive, Democrats watch and learn, for if you fail to do so, you just may find your party being executed at the guillotine.

One person one vote.........Breaking down a democratic voter.........

Have you ever had that no so "Democratic" feeling?

So unless you've been living under a rock readers:

- republicans are out to take full advantage of the November mid-term shellacking and radically change how Democrats assemble and vote.

If your not listening, please hear me........ if we allow republicans to repeat conflation of reconciliation and nuclear option " we are helping Republicans spread a lie"!

Our problem is we're not tough enough. We haven't shown the spine to do what is needed, and we need, once again, a spinal transplant in the Democratic Party to play hardball.

Our country's at stake here. This isn't about Republican versus Democratic anymore. This is about whether we want to move forward and have our voices heard, or whether we want to let a small ideological minority screw up the country so they can take power again.

Progressives, get off the couch, take the Pringles out of your mouth, and let your voices be heard, for if not, you can assure yourself that you will be run over by the tea bag express.

DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSWOMAN SHOT!

BREAKING NEWS: EDITED 21:28 1/8/11

Here is a copy of an ad that Giffords opponent ran. Very, Very disturbing. Caution when viewing!

Here is Sarah Palin encouraging or inciting as well!

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was critically wounded today in a shooting at a Tucson, Arizona, Safeway store. At least 11 other people were injured, officials say. The hospital says Giffords is in surgery for a gunshot wound to the head.

This is the very anger and discontent that Dana Loesch {pictured below}, Andy Breitbart, Glenn Beck and other extreme tea bags encourage!

We have posted this email from photographer Steven Treusdell to Dana Loesch. Here it is again for about the 50 time via NFTOS:

{Our researchers came up with this quote from a left wing friend of Loesch's (which honesty astonishes the bloggers of NFTOS that she has Democratic pals). Quoting photographer Steven Treusdell who has no problem calling out dear Dana... "You have the character of a hate radio DJ down pat," Truesdell wrote in an e-mail to Loesch in October. "Your continued rise in this arena will be fun to watch. You have the aggression, the looks, and the vocab to go far in 'Hate broadcasting' and right wing idolatry. Do be careful though, one day the outrage you urge in others will turn to violence and innocent people will die in your name. This is assured. That is a lot to live with, even when one has Religious righteousness and a fervent belief in their absolute rightness. I hope when that day comes you can live with the results of what you have sown."}

"Republican National Temperament" is completely out of control! Its fine to disagree with parties, but to take things to this level, Dana Loesch and Glenn Beck need to be held accountable, PERIOD!
