THE ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT THAT WAS'T

Jake Tapper called out Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway on Sunday for falsely suggesting that Donald Trump was the target of an assassination attempt at a rally in Reno where a protester was beaten by fans of the billionaire candidate.

After 33-year-old Austyn Crites was pummeled by Trump fans on Saturday for holding a “Republicans Against Trump” sign at the GOP nominee’s Reno rally, Donald Trump Jr. and Trump aide Dan Scavino falsely called the incident an “assassination attempt.”

On Sunday, Tapper asked Conway to explain why the Trump campaign was “retweeting misinformation that this was an assassination attempt.”

“It’s scary,” Conway opined. “All the coverage is usually about our protesters wreaking havoc and making people feel afraid. And it certainly goes both ways. I’m with Mr. Trump and the Secret Service routinely. They do an amazing job.”

“I also want to point out because some people are spreading misinformation about the protester,” she continued. “He had canvassed for Hillary Clinton and he had donated to her campaign. So, this is a Democratic plant or operative trying to disrupt our rally. And I think people saw a nimble resilient Donald Trump who would be nimble and resilient as president as well.”

“Except it wasn't an assassination attempt,” Tapper pointed out. “It was apparently a local voter, a Republican who says he is supporting Hillary Clinton. He has given money to Hillary Clinton. He has canvassed for Hillary Clinton. But he says he’s a Republican. But most importantly, he was not trying to assassinate anyone.” 

“This was not an assassination attempt, but why is your campaign spreading that it was?” Tapper wondered. 

“That’s really remarkable,” Conway replied. “That that’s what the story line is here.”

Pivoting to the Democratic nominee, the Trump campaign manager asserted that Hillary Clinton was traveling with Beyonce because she was having trouble getting people to come to her events.

Conway concluded by defiantly offering to retract the assassination claim if CNN retracts “all the storylines, all the headlines, all the breathless predictions of the last two weeks that turned out not to be true.”

“You guys retract that and I'll give a call to Dan Scavino about the retweet,” Conway quipped.

“I never reported anything along those lines,” Tapper stated.

“CNN certainly has,” Conway shot back as Tapper shrugged. “You’ve got to be honest here.”

“We’ve been saying all along that Donald Trump has a path to the presidency,” Tapper insisted.

“Wow!” Conway exclaimed.

“You can say ‘wow’ all you want, I’ve never said that the race was over,” Tapper laughed. “We can replay as many tapes as you want.”

MAHER JOKES ABOUT CHEETO ASSASSINATION

Bill Maher took a swipe at Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Saturday night at his show in Washington, DC.

During his set at DAR Constitution Hall, Politico reported, the Real Time host said, “I’m nervous. And I saw the headline today — race tightening. Trump ahead in Ohio and Florida. If this race is even the week before the election, somebody is going to have to go out there…”

He paused for effect, then said, “Why do you think they let Hinckley out?”

John Hinckley, Jr. shot and wounded Pres. Ronald Regan in 1981. Last week, he was released from St. Elizabeth psychiatric hospital where he was sentenced after being found not guilty by reason of insanity.

Maher’s remarks will no doubt outrage Trump followers who are still resentful that the media seized upon the GOP candidate’s reference to “Second Amendment people”resolving the issue of a Pres. Hillary Clinton and her judicial nominees.

It should be noted, however, that Bill Maher isn’t running for president, whereas — in spite of how it may look sometimes — Donald Trump is.

At a campaign rally in North Carolina on Tuesday, dipashit Trump suggested that “Second Amendment people” — gun owners — could be the answer to stopping Hillary Clinton from winning the 2016 election and appointing justices to the Supreme Court.

“If she gets to pick her judges — there’s nothing you can do, folks,” Trump told the crowd, who loudly booed the prospect of Clinton winning. He then added, without smiling or laughing: “Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.”

The Secret Service via twitter said they were aware of the statements made by Orange Hitler.

It’s time for the shit stain named Donald J. Trump to end his campaign, period end of story!

CLOWNSTICK'S FORMER BUTLER URGES KILLING OF OBAMA?

The U.S. Secret Service is investigating presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s former butler over a Facebook post calling for President Barack Obama’s assassination.

The former butler, Anthony Senecal, 74, said in a Facebook post Obama should be hanged for treason. He made the statement in 2015, and the magazine Mother Jones wrote on Thursday about the post and other similar remarks by Senecal. Senecal worked for decades as a butler at Trump’s Palm Beach mansion, Mar-a-Lago.

After reports of Senecal’s comments began to circulate, the Secret Service said in a statement, “The U.S. Secret Service is aware of this matter and will conduct the appropriate investigation.”

The story broke as Trump, whose proposals to ban Muslims from entering the United States and build a wall along the Mexican border have drawn heavy criticism, concluded a charm offensive on Capitol Hill. He attended a series of meetings there on Thursday with Republican lawmakers to try to win the party establishment’s support for his candidacy.

Senecal has not served as a butler to the billionaire candidate since 2009, but he was identified in a March 15 profile in the New York Times as a current employee of Mar-a-Lago, serving as the estate’s historian.

Hope Hicks, a spokeswoman for Trump, said in a statement, “Senecal has not worked at Mar-a-Lago for years, but nevertheless we totally and completely disavow the horrible statements made by him regarding the president.”

She declined to comment on the Times report about Senecal’s recent role. Senecal did not respond to a call seeking comment and could not be reached by email.

“It is time for our Military to drag that fraud out of the white mosque and hang his ass for treason and other high crimes against AMERICA !!!!!!!” Senecal wrote on Sept. 13, 2015, in reference to Obama.

Mother Jones reached Senecal on Thursday. The magazine reported that Senecal said of his Facebook comments, including a private comment on Wednesday in which he said Obama should be shot: “I wrote that. I believe that.”
