GOP ers LIVE IN A BUBBLE |
Here's the reason why the right-wingers in America are so
screwed up:
The Republican electorate tends to be old, racially
homogenous, rural, and in most cases under-educated (the states that have the
lowest rates of high school and college degrees are all red states, and 8 of
the 10 most educated states are blue states). Each of those factors can be
agitated pretty easily –you've been abandoned, they're coming for you, you're
neglected in favor of the cities and they think you're stupid, respectively.
These factors can also be easily piqued by a dogmatic politicized religion.
In combination, this creates a group of people who are
paranoid, resistant to evidence and facts, and who have a preference for simple
explanations and solutions.
Exploiting this phenomenon, is an amoral, highly educated,
wealthy class willing to use these preferences for their individual gain. These
people are in no way stupid, they're just without scruples. They have vast
resources and are willing to rely on both the light and dark side of the force
to achieve their continued primacy. Easiest way to do that is to manifest these
resources into blaming whatever it is on the group they find most threatening.
So, when this body of people is presented with evidence that
undermines what they think they know, they feel immediately threatened. These
fears are stoked by their overseers so that the immediate response is
hostility, rather that the more appropriate response of discovery. It also
clouds everything when there is a ready-made smoke and mirrors scheme designed
to pump doubt onto complicated evidence. When a scientist is proved wrong, they
"were lying." When journalists deliver unwelcome news, they
"have a liberal bias." When expert findings (such as science or
economic analysis) are demonstrably correct but threatening to the right-wing
doctrine, their methods are asserted to be flawed, or are otherwise
marginalized. This makes thee GOP pro-actively reactionary.
Teapublicans live within their own convoluted bubble, a
bubble so out of touch with reality, that during our latest presidential
election, our country flat out denied these fruit loops the opportunity to
reverse 50 years of progression.
BUBBLE ONE
BUBBLE TWO
Watch Maddow show you what we missed when we voted to deny
the GOP the White House.
For starters, to survive as a party, the teapublicans need
to welcome people who believe in different things than they do, like science
and math.
The GOP is imploding as we speak, from Ann Coulter, to Glenn
Beck, to Karl Rove, they are all coming unglued at the seams, which at the end
of the day is a good thing - for nothing is better than a pissed off tea
bagger. This is what happens when one lives in a bubble.
