It’s a gun issue Stupid…

So it hit me around 3 pm last Sunday that Omar Mateen, American citizen by birth, 24 hours earlier represented exactly what the NRA is trying to protect - an natural born American citizens right to own a gun to protect and serve himself and/or the public. This was a man who was licensed to be a security officer. Who was presumably vetted multiple times, and continuously evaluated for mental stability as an officer licensed to carry a weapon. That is until the moment he snapped. The concept of a good guy with a gun is a fleeting one. This whack-job proves it.

That does NOT mean all of you gun toters are, nor does it mean you'll snap one day too. It is a reflection on why I find the concept “the good guy with a gun” so laughable. Not everyone with a gun is good, not everyone without a gun is a wimp or victim in waiting.

When the second amendment was conceived both the government of Great Britain and the citizens of the colonies had weapons that were similar. That could be repeatedly fired only as fast as they could pull a trigger. Bambie may be fast, but shooting her at 700 rounds per minute doesn't strike me as sport, nor will it leaving you with much to mount in way of a trophy. Swiss cheese venison anyone?

Face it. With that crows its the bigger the boom, the bigger the giggle.

Everyone seems to be wringing their hands over the terror plot the FBI missed. Did they?

The FBI investigated an American-born citizen who had committed no crime. Who showed a propensity for anger and aggressive behavior –like many a tea bagger I might add. Regardless, that is not criminal!

What would you have them do? Maybe if they put him on a watch list and prevented him from buying guns! Hey, what would the NRA say about that - An American-born citizen accused of being angry, who committed no crime, denied the right to buy a gun.!

Then the discussion becomes a Second Amendment issue. And this was my point. Common Sense dictates we should have placed this clown on a no buy list. Its time we start being really “well regulated”.

BEE COMPLETELY EXCORIATES SMALL PENIS NRA TYPES

An emotional Samantha Bee opened Full Frontal on Monday night, and immediately went off on America’ response to yet another mass shooting by attacking the shooter, the NRA, Florida Gov. Rick Scott and a gun culture that enabled a man to slaughter 49 people in an Orlando nightclub.
“The standard operating procedure is that you stand on stage and deliver some well-meaning words about how we will all get through this together, how love wins, how love conquers hate,” she began. “And that is great and that is beautiful. But you know what? Fuck it! I’m too angry for that! Love does not win unless we start loving each other enough to fix our fucking problems!”

VIDEO COURTESY OF TBS

With that she was off saying, “Mass shootings have become so frequent in this country that the only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun is another bad guy with a gun who coincidentally came to shoot up the same place.”

Bee also lashed out at the NRA’s support of assault weapons, saying, “We can’t constitutionally get rid of all guns, but can’t we get semi-automatic assault rifles out of the hands of civilians? Yes! Sam Bee wants to take your guns away. The ones that mow down a room full of people in a second! Yes, I do want to take those guns away. These high-capacity penis substitutes.

SAY IT AINT SO!

NRA DIPSHIT AND GUN PEDDLER WAYNE LAPIERRE

I am just going to leave this here for the gun loon, gun huggers, and ammosexuals.

In sworn testimony before the House Judiciary Crime Subcommittee on May 28, 1999, in the wake of the Columbine shootings, NRA Vice-President Wayne LaPierre speaks forcefully in favor of universal background checks.

What changed you asked? Safety took a shit with the NRA for the greed of dollars for peddling guns.

AMMOSEXUALS GET OVERRUN BY MASS FARTERS

A “mock mass shooting” held adjacent to the campus of University of Texas at Austin was drowned out by a much larger group of counter-protesters armed with fart guns.

The mock shooting was organized by a ammosexual group that advocates for the open carry of guns on campus under the banner of the website DontComply.com. The group bragged that the event, which was sparsely attended, “went perfect.”

FARTERS

After the event, the small group held a march with “several members openly carrying real assault-style rifles.”

But the mock shooting was largely eclipsed by a large group of counter-protesters making farting sounds. The “mass farting” was organized by UT alumnus Andrew Dobbs who billed the dueling events as “a choice between fear and a little bit of good humor.”

While just a handful of people attended the mock shooting, Dobbs counter-protest attracted about a hundred people shouting slogans like “We fart in your general direction.”

Under Texas law, licensed gun owners will be able to “openly carry their handguns” on campus starting in 2016.

Murdoch Pizgatti, who organized the mass shooting, was openly carrying a handgun on Saturday. Pizgatti “repeatedly cited a law passed in 2013 that protects those who ‘accidentally’ expose their concealed gun. ‘Whoops!’ he said, laughing.”

MARCO RUBIO PROVES WHY HE ISN’T POTUS MATERIAL

Marco Rubio said Sunday that people on the U.S. government’s No-Fly list should still be able to purchase guns, because the list is full of “everyday Americans” who are on the list by accident.
“The majority of the people on the No-Fly list are often times people that just basically have the same name as somebody else, who doesn’t belong on the No-Fly list,” he said on CNN’s State of the Union. “Former Senator Ted Kennedy once said he was on a no-fly list. There are journalists on the No-Fly list.”
Rubio’s comments were in response to host Jake Tapper referencing a statement by President Obama, who said Saturday that he thought it was “insane” that people who aren’t allowed to board commercial airplanes can purchase guns. Obama is also set to address the nation in the wake of attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, California, on Sunday night.
“Right now, people on the No-Fly list can walk into a store and buy a gun. That is insane,” Obama said Saturday. “If you’re too dangerous to board a plane, you’re too dangerous, by definition, to buy a gun. And so I’m calling on Congress to close this loophole, now.”
Rubio, however, doesn’t agree with the president’s sentiment.
“These are everyday Americans that have nothing to do with terrorism, they wind up on the No-Fly list, there’s no due process or any way to get your name removed from it in a timely fashion, and now they’re having their Second Amendment rights being impeded upon,” he said.
And, when Tapper said he didn’t think it was accurate that a majority of people on the No-Fly list were there by mistake, Rubio said he thought it was a “very significant number.” That’s why, he said, he joined colleagues in the Senate in blocking a bill last week that would have prevented people on the Justice Department’s Terrorist Watch List from buying guns. Every Senate Republican except Sen. Mark Kirk voted against the bill.

Rubio’s fellow Republican presidential candidate John Kasich, however, disagrees with Senate Republicans.
“Well, on the No-Fly list, we probably could keep them from getting guns and ought to ban them,” Kasich told Tapper on Sunday.
But he also noted that the U.S. needed to be careful not to tip off people on watch lists.

“We want to make sure that we can exploit all the information that we possibly can get. So if all of a sudden you tell everybody who’s on the watch list that you can’t do this or that, then guess what happens?” he said. “Then we lose our ability to track, we lose our ability to gather information, so I think we have to be careful.”

"CARRY GUNS....END MUSLIMS"

Liberty University president Jerry Falwell Jr. urged more students to carry guns on Friday, arguing that if the victims of Wednesday’s attack in San Bernardino, California were armed, they would have been able to protect themselves from the attackers.

“Ive always thought that if more good people had concealed-carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in and killed them,” he said during the school’s convocation, before teasing the students about his own gun.
“If some of those people in that community center had what I have in my back pocket right now…,” he said. “Is it illegal to pull it out? I don’t know,” he joked, to laughter and loud applause. “I just wanted to take this opportunity to encourage all of you to get your permit. We offer a free course,” he said. “Let’s teach them a lesson if they ever show up here.”

Falwell later told the Washington Post that he decided to carry a .25 pistol following Wednesday’s attack, which authorities are ascribing to two individuals who may have been radicalized by the foreign terrorist group ISIS. The son of the late religious leader Jerry Falwell Sr. also clarified that his reference to “those Muslims” was short hand for Islamic-inspired terrorists. “That’s the only thing I would clarify,” Falwell told the Post. “If I had to say what I said again, I’d say exactly the same thing.”

Virginia residents who complete training and satisfy state requirements may apply for a concealed weapons permit. Students and faculty members at Liberty University may carry concealed weapons on campus but not in the residence halls. The Christian college is closely aligned with conservative politics, but is at odds with major religious groups, who overwhelmingly favor stricter gun safety measures.

Research also shows that armed civilians are unable to successfully intervene in mass shootings and that higher gun ownership actually correlates with higher instances of firearm-related deaths. One recent study found that for “every 1 percent increase in gun ownership, there was a 1.1 percent increase in the firearm homicide rate and a 0.7 percent increase in the total homicide rate.”

GUESS WHERE TRUMP WAS ONE HOUR PRIOR TO CALIFORNIA MASS SHOOTING?

Even in right-wing looney land, radio hosts Alex Jones is a ‘special” kind of “patriot” who stands out. Where Rush Limbaugh offers a torrent of conservative views that largely align with Republican policy preferences, Jones labels 9/11 an “inside job.” Where Mark Levin touts radical constitutional theories that, nonetheless, have grown popular in Republican circles, Jones ties same-sex marriage on “the eugenicist/globalist view.” Jones is the king of fringe conspiracy theories. Among other things, he may be the nation’s most prominent proponent of the view that the Sandy Hook shooting that killed 26 people an elementary school was a “synthetic, completely fake — with actors, in my view — manufactured” hoax.

And one hour before another terrible mass shooting occurred in San Bernardino, California on Wednesday, Jones hosted a very special guest on his radio show — Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.

The conversation between Trump and Jones was, in one reporter’s words, a “love fest.” Jones described the wealthy heir as a “self-made” man and a “true maverick.” Trump, in return, praised Jones.
“Your reputation is amazing,” the billionaire-turned-politician told the conspiracy theorist, adding that “I won’t let you down.”

PRO LIFE CONSERVATIVE WING NUT KILLS THREE IN "NO MORE BABY PARTS" RAMPAGE

ROBERT LEWIS DEAR "PRO-LIFE" MURDERER!

Robert Lewis Dear allegedly killed three people and injured 9 others yesterday at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In the hours after the shooting little was known about Dear or his motivations.

Saturday evening, those motivations began to come into focus. NBC News and the Washington Post reported that, after the shooting, Dear told law enforcement officials “no more baby parts.”

The phrase clearly references a series of videos released by the Center for Medical Progress, an anti-abortion advocacy group. The videos alleged that Planned Parenthood was illegally selling body parts from fetuses for profit. These allegations were untrue and the videos relied on deceptive editing.

CONSERVATIVE TWITTER ACCOUNT "RISKYS TOP" PROVING WHY THE REAL TERRORISTS ARE THE AMERICAN TALIBAN AKA THE REPUBLICAN WING NUT

Still, the videos have become a rallying cry for the right, including the Republican presidential candidates. In August, Marco Rubio said, “what’s happening at Planned Parenthood, what’s being revealed in these videos, is atrocious, it’s grotesque, it’s barbaric.” Rubio later accused Planned Parenthood of pushing women into getting abortions “so that those tissues can be harvested and sold for a profit.” He told TMZ that people should be more “fired up” about the Planned Parenthood video.

Speaking on the Senate floor in September Ted Cruz declared that “we are now a nation that harvests the body parts of little baby boys and girls. It is the very definition of inhumanity to treat children like agriculture, to be grown and killed for their body parts, to be sold for profit.”

NBC News cautions that Dear’s motivations could be multifaceted and the alleged shooter “also mentioned President Barack Obama in statements.”

NRA FUNDED WING NUT SAYS REFUGEES CAN’T BE LET IN BECAUSE GUNS ARE TOO EASY TO GET

A Texas state legislator wants the U.S. to stop allowing Syrian refugees into the country. His reasoning: They might be able to buy guns in his state.

Rep. Tony Dale made this argument in a television interview on Monday and in letters to Texas’ U.S. Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz and U.S. Reps. Michael McCaul and John Carter R.
“While the Paris attackers used suicide vests and grenades,” Dale wrote, “it is clear that firearms also killed a large number of innocent victims. Can you imagine a scenario were a refugees is admitted to the United States, is provided with federal cash payments and other assistance, obtains a drivers license and purchases a weapon and executes an attack?” He urged the lawmakers to “do whatever you can to stop the [Syrian refugee] program.”
But Dale is one of the Texas legislature’s most fervent gun-rights advocates. Two weeks ago, he tweeted his National Rifle Association membership renewal. In accepting an “A” rating from the group and the Texas State Rifle Association’s PAC in 2012, he observed: “Perhaps no right is more fundamental than the right to keep and bear arms.” And his campaign website vows his fealty to the Second Amendment, saying it “isn’t just an archaic document,” a “guarantor of all of our other freedoms.” And he and his colleagues in the state legislature have blocked mandatory background checks for all gun purchases.

This not the first time Dale has raised concerns about non-citizens in Texas. “I’m not saying all of these people are bad, but there are certainly people from countries of concern,” he said in March, explaining the need for legislation to create special drivers licenses for “foreigners.”

The NRA frequently claims that restrictions on gun purchases are unnecessary because “criminals don’t legally purchase firearms.” But in reality, a comprehensive analysis by Mayors Against Illegal Guns found that most guns used in recent mass shootings were purchased legally.

While those applying for refugee status must complete “the most stringent security process for anyone entering the United States,” those attempting to purchase guns through private sales at gun shows in Texas and many other states are not required to undergo any background checks whatsoever. Virtually none of the millions of refugees admitted into the United States since 1980 have become terrorists, but the U.S. leads the world in mass shootings — almost all of which are perpetrated by people born in America.

Only an NRA funded GOP wing nut … could he be this stupid. If guns are too easy for refugees to get, doesn't the same apply for the "responsible gun hugger?. Congratulations Tony Dale, you are today’s asshat of the day.

OREGON COUNTY JOINS GUNS OVER PEOPLE SOCIETY

If the sheriff of Coos County, Oregon thinks any state or federal gun control law violates his 2nd Amendment right, he doesn’t have to enforce it, according to an ordinance passed this week by county voters.

Sixty-one percent of voters in rural Coos County voted to pass the “2nd Amendment Preservation Ordinance,” which also prohibits local enforcement of Oregon’s new background check law. That law requires universal background checks for gun purchases in the state — even for private sales.

Coos County is just west of Umpqua Community College, an Oregon university that was rocked by a mass shooting last month. The ordinance had been put on the ballot before the shooting, but after Oregon’s governor signed the new background check bill into law.

Here’s an excerpt of the ordinance:

Some text in the “2nd Amendment Preservation Ordinance,” which passed with 61 percent of the vote in Coos County, Oregon on Tuesday.

CREDIT: CO.COOS.OR.US

It’s not clear, however, whether the ordinance can be legally implemented. Charlie Hinkle, a constitutional law expert in Portland, Oregon, told the Huffington Post that local governments and officials are not allowed to decide “what laws are constitutional.”

“That’s why Kim Davis went to jail,” he reportedly said, referring to the Kentucky county clerk who was jailed after refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses, despite the fact that the Supreme Court said that same-sex marriage is a fundamental civil right across the country. Hinkle said Coos County’s sheriff may face similar court hearings and possibly jail time if he refuses to comply with the laws in his state.

For what it’s worth, even Coos County’s current sheriff admitted that the new measure likely won’t be implemented smoothly, if at all.
“I’m not sure the courts would agree with that concept,” he told The Oregonian last month. “I would just bet there would be some legal challenges to it.”
Other counties in the state have passed similar measures, but they’ve largely been symbolic — a way to show support for gun rights in the southeastern and western parts of the state, where gun ownership is above average.

Indeed, outside of more liberal areas like Portland, Oregon is home to a large number of gun rights supporters. Memorably, many of them protested president Obama’s visit to Umpqua Community College following the mass shooting last month, angry about his calls for stricter gun laws following the tragedy.

"The Armor of Light"

A Christian documentary scheduled for release later this month, a pastor confronts the moral quagmire of a heavily pro-gun culture that is simultaneously pro-life.

The point is driven home by former GOP Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, who illuminates a rather strange version of a faith that many have characterized as pacifist and charitable — a version that has nevertheless come to dominate right wing Christianity in the United States.

The documentary, “The Armor of Light,” asks whether it’s possible to be both pro-gun and pro-life, according to the website Addicting Info. The film follows Rob Schenck, “an Evangelical minister trying to find the courage to preach about the growing toll of gun violence in America.”

In one scene, Sarah Palin tells a cheering National Rifle Association crowd not to waste ammunition on a warning shot.

In the clip, Palin warns about efforts to “strip away our Second Amendment rights.”
“When pastors, preachers, bible teachers, ignore these questions, it creates a vacuum,” Schenck says in a voice over. “And other voices fill that vacuum.”
At this point Palin goes into a disturbing tirade about shooting first and asking questions later.
“Speaking of which, Joe Biden, remember this, telling women before an assault just to fire a warning shot,” Palin tells the crowd. “Just aim up in the air, that was his directive…Gals, you know that nowadays, ammo is expensive. Don’t waste a bullet on a warning shot.”

Schenck says he wonders about the “ethical dimensions of having a constant, defensive posture.”

The video then cuts to Wayne La Pierre fear mongering about how many threats there are in the world, including “terrorists, home invaders, drug cartels, car jackers, knock-out gamers, rapers, haters, campus killers, airport killers, shopping mall killers.”

The clip ends with Schenck pointing out, “And the gun is almost an invitation to give in to the temptation of fear. And fear should not be a controlling element in the life of a Christian.”

GUNS, WE'RE HERE TO STAY

Saturday Night Live last night punked America’s for its love affair with guns in a warm and fuzzy ad that the NRA might have produced — but without the self-awareness of how crazy it is

In the ad we see various moments in people’s lives — first love, the birth of a child, inter-generational connections — made better by the introduction of a gun.

VIDEO COURTESY OF NBC

A woman in labor refuses to go into emergency room without carrying her rifle, an intimate dinner is topped off with the gift of a gun instead of a engagement ring, a woman enjoys the exhilaration of running in the park by randomly shooting a handgun into the air.

The ad concludes with the a voice-over reminding us: “Wherever life takes you. Guns. We’re here to stay.”

How Many “Good Guys With A Gun” Does It Take To Stop A Shoplifter

The only thing that stops a shoplifter is a vigilante bystander with a gun. Or, at least, that’s what an unidentified woman apparently decided shortly before she opened fire on an SUV carrying a man who was fleeing the nearby Home Depot.

The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon at a Home Depot parking lot in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Store security chased the alleged shoplifter as he jumped into an SUV that was waiting to help him flee. According to the Detroit Free Press, that’s when a 48 year-old woman drew a gun and began firing shots at the vehicle.

The woman, who has a license to carry a concealed firearm, is reportedly “cooperating with police.”

If this “Good Gal” with a gun were an actual cop, she almost certainly would have violated the Constitution. Under the Supreme Court’s decision in Tennessee v. Garner, law enforcement may not use deadly force “unless it is necessary to prevent the escape and the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others.”

Based on publicly available information, there’s no indication that the fleeing man, who allegedly stole power tools and welding equipment, presented a sufficient threat to the public to justify the use of deadly force.

The vigilante shooter may face criminal charges. Among other things, Michigan law provides that anyone who “because of carelessness, recklessness or negligence . . . shall cause or allow any firearm under his control to be discharged so as to destroy or injure the property of another” may be sentenced to up to 90 days in jail. Depending on the woman’s intent at the time of the crime, she could potentially face much more serious charges — including attempted murder.

STUDY SHOWS GOOD GUN HUGGERS ARE WORTHLESS AS TITS ON A BULL WHEN ATTEMPTING TO INVOKE SELF DEFENSE

You’ve heard the bullshit a million times: “The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.” The only problem, it turns out, is that being a “good guy” isn’t good enough.

A new study by researchers at Mount St. Mary’s University shows that proper training and the ability to know how and when to apply lethal force is essential to not only “stopping a bad guy” but not killing yourself and other innocent bystanders. As Christopher Ingraham of The Washington Post reports:

Researchers recruited 77 volunteers with varying levels of firearm experience and training, and had each of them participate in simulations of three different scenarios using the firearms training simulator at the Prince George’s County Police Department in Maryland…

They found that, perhaps unsurprisingly, people without firearms training performed poorly in the scenarios. They didn’t take cover. They didn’t attempt to issue commands to their assailants. Their trigger fingers were either too itchy — they shot innocent bystanders or unarmed people, or not itchy enough — they didn’t shoot armed assailants until they were already being shot at

The study, it should be noted, was funded by a gun reform advocacy group National Gun Victims Action Council, and the sample size of 77 is rather small but the findings are significant and confirm what even the NRA says — more training goes a long way in preventing accidents in the event of emergencies. The researchers released some interesting video showing the difference between how trained professionals respond to crises and how the average Joe does.

The National Gun Victims Action Council considers itself a moderate gun control group advocating for “sane gun control”. They believe the first step to more sane control is requiring training for handgun ownership just as we currently do for the operation of cars and other heavy machinery.

The NRA, for its part, categorically opposes such measures.

THOSE “GOOD GUYS WITH GUNS” ARE NEVER AROUND WHEN YOU NEED THEM

A bad guy with a gun opened fire at a movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana on Thursday night. As of this writing, two of his victims are dead and at least seven others are wounded. No good guy with a gun rose from the audience to fell the lone gunman as he pumped bullet after bullet into the innocent crowd. The man concluded his rampage by turning his handgun on himself and taking his own life.

Louisiana, the state where this occurred, has some of the weakest — if not the weakest — gun laws in the nation. To give just one example, Louisiana recently enacted an NRA-backed state constitutional amendment providing that “the right of each citizen to keep and bear arms is fundamental and shall not be infringed,” and that “any restriction on this right” will be met with maximal skepticism by the states’ courts. The amendment also stripped out language permitting the state legislature to “prohibit the carrying of weapons concealed on a person.”

Similarly, Louisiana does not require gun dealers to obtain a state license. It does not limit the number of guns that may be purchased at one time. It forbids local governments from regulating firearms. And it has no laws restricting assault weapons or .50 caliber rifles. One study of all 50 states’ gun laws concluded that Louisiana has the laxest gun laws of any state.

The National Rifle Association claims that this absence of gun regulation is a good thing, in part, because it enables armed vigilantes to gun down murderers like the man who perpetrated the shooting in Lafayette. But the high rates of gun violence in Louisiana cut strongly against this conclusion. A 2013 report by the Center for American Progress examined all 50 states according to 10 factors related to gun violence. Louisiana received the worst rating of any state on several of these factors, including overall firearm deaths from 2001-2010, firearm homicides in 2010, and firearm homicides among women from 2001-2010. The report also rated Louisiana the worst state overall when all 10 factors were aggregated.

Nor is Louisiana, with its lax gun laws and high rates of gun violence, an outlier. To the contrary, the report concluded that “the 10 states with the weakest gun laws collectively have a level of gun violence that is more than twice as high — 104 percent higher — than the 10 states with the strongest gun laws.”

NRA BECOMING VERY PARANOID

NASHVILLE, TN — Islamic extremists have seized control of cities across the United States and have enacted sharia law, according to a speaker at the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting who spoke about current and emerging threats to American gun owners.

Author Steve Tarani said during a presentation in Nashville on Sunday that he has witnessed the alleged “no-go zones” — areas where police cannot enter — while shadowing a friend who serves on the Detroit Metro SWAT Police on a drive in Dearborn, MI. He described pulling up to one of the alleged Muslim-controlled areas:

The street signs suddenly went from English to Arabic. There wasn’t a single English word on any shop or any street sign. And in fact, these little yellow signs were posted all along the edges. Jeremy said to me, ‘this is it. We don’t go past this line.’ And I said to Jeremy, ‘what do you mean? You guys are Detroit Metro. You’re the SWAT team. You can go anywhere you want. What if you get a call over there?’ He said ‘this is it, it’s hazardous for our team if we go past this line.’

I have seen it with my own eyes, witnessed it in the backseat of a car and it is for real. No-go zones exist in the United States.

Dearborn, Michigan is not the only place that these settlements exist. They are spread out over the country in various cities. There’s an estimate of over 5,000 known terrorist cells in the United States. However our most persistent and significant threat, right now, to us here today this morning, is the homegrown violent extremists.

There is no factual basis to allegations that parts of the U.S. have turned into no-go zones that Muslim extremists had supposedly conquered — a myth that was spread by Fox News reports earlier this year.

Tarani’s comments were part of an hour-long seminar in which he discussed what he claims are the threats Americans face on a daily basis. The frequency and intensity of “mass murders, beheadings and suicide bombings” are increasing, he said. After detailing the events of a number of mass shootings and terrorist plots by an “endless supply” of militant groups around the world, Tarani told the audience they should be prepared to respond to all kinds of threats.

Tarani also warned that the country’s “porous borders” are letting extremists and terrorists into the United States. “It’s possible that at least 20 percent of what comes over that border — that’s a big number, guys — is Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Ethiopian al shabaab, known gang members and supports of the cartel,” he said, warning people to arm themselves to respond to threats before law enforcement can.

The myth of no-go zones was also spread earlier this year by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R), who said in an interview that there are Muslim areas in Europe that are dominated by extremist Muslims where the police refuse to enter. Fox News previously made several mentions of no-go zones, prompting British Prime Minister David Cameron to publicly refute the claim and even call one pundit “a complete idiot.” Fox later issued several apologies and admitted that no-go zones do not actually exist.

An enclave of Muslim people do live in Dearborn, MI — more than 30 percent of the population is Muslim — but despite the rumors, the city is not governed by Sharia law. Residents of Dearborn are not exempt from state or local law, regardless of the religion to which they identify. According to the Daily Beast, the myth of no-go zones in the city is “a phenomenon that baffles Dearborn Mayor Jack O’Reilly.”

“The people who perpetuate it use it for their own gain,” O’Reilly told the website. “There are certain sites and individuals who like to perpetuate fear of Muslims — the people who like to suggest Muslims shouldn’t remain in the U.S.”

PROFESSOR OF KILLOLOGY SAYS PREPARE FOR IMMIMENT DISASTER

WING NUT GUN HUGGER LT.COL. DAVE GROSSMAN

NASHVILLE, TN — “Sandy Hook is just the beginning. We’re raising a generation of mass killers.”

Lt. Col. Dave Grossman repeated those lines to a crowd of hundreds at the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting in Nashville on Saturday, telling the gun owners to fear for themselves and their families and that the only solution is to arm all of our citizens.
“Can we take the lessons learned in Columbine and Jonesboro and Virginia Tech? Can we take the lessons learned on 9/11 and in Sandy Hook Elementary School? Or do we have to wait until our kids die?” Grossman asked the audience during a seminar called “Sheepdogs! The Bulletproof Mind for the Armed Citizen.”
After detailing each mass shooting to occur at a school over the past few decades, tallying up the deaths with red marker in front of the audience, Grossman told the NRA members that “you’re going to see daycare massacres and school bus massacres.”

The two-hour long seminar focused on how having armed police officers in schools is just the first step to protecting the country from the inevitable mass violence. Grossman did not touch on the mental health issues that underlie school shootings. The “worst and the most” mass murders have occurred in Europe where there are stricter gun control laws, Grossman told the audience.
“Any politician who tells you we can solve this problem with gun laws is an idiot,” he said. “The politicians drag a red herring across the path — it’s all about the evil guns and if we make the evil guns go away, the bad men will go away.”
Instead, Grossman said we have to put tens of thousands of armed cops, or “good guys with guns” in our schools and encourage all citizens to arm themselves to prepare for imminent disaster.
“Folks, we have raised a vicious, vicious generation of children,” he said. “They have given us crimes on children like nothing in human history. Sandy Hook is just the beginning. Our founding fathers knew there would be days like this… And they created the Second Amendment for just a time like this. And in the midst of all that, the politicians want to disarm our citizens. That is flat out treason.”
Grossman is a retired Army sergeant and paratrooper who taught psychology at West Point. He says he has founded a new academic field which he calls “killology,” the study of killing in war and the “violent crime that is raging the world,” according to his biography.

While Grossman may claim the Second Amendment can help protect people from violent criminals, research shows that being armed does little to prevent shootings. A 2012 Mother Jones analysis of 61 mass murders over the last 30 years found that “in not a single case was the killing stopped by a civilian using a gun.” As one leading expert explained, “given that civilian shooters are less likely to hit their targets than police in these circumstances,” arming civilians could often lead to more chaos and deaths.

Ten thousand kids are injured or killed by guns each year, according to a recent study. And despite Grossman’s claims, the United State’s rate of mortality from firearms is about the times higher than the rates in other wealthy nations.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) estimates that firearms are one of the top three causes of death among children, killing twice as many kids as cancer does. In the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting, many national gun control groups and others including the AAP stepped up their efforts to lobby for gun violence prevention, including expanded background checks and safe storage to ensure that guns aren’t falling into the wrong hands.

But members of the NRA used the Sandy Hook massacre to push for arming more civilians. “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre famously said at a press conference.
“Why is the idea of a gun good when it’s used to protect the president of our country or our police, but bad when it’s used to protect our children in our schools?,” LaPierre said after Sandy Hook. “They’re our kids. They’re our responsibility. And it’s not just our duty to protect them, it’s our right to protect them.”

Congratulations numbnuts, I mean Lt.Col, you are today's psychotic asshat of the day. What a freak of nature!

IS THERE A POLICE PROBLEM IN AMERICA?

AND SOMEONE THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?

Let it be clear to all, that the assassination of two NYPD officers is disgusting, but in the same breath, especially for this blogger, I can say, and It's possible for Americans to be both appalled by senseless executions of cops, and angry at unjustified killings by cops.

Police lives matter, but so do black lives, especially unarmed black men. This is not a choice of either/or, its both. Since when did it become controversial to believe that both NYPD officers and unarmed black NYC residents don't deserve to die?

From Sally Kohn on twitter:
"When there’s a school shooting, we don’t blame it on critics of public schools. Equally absurd to blame cop shootings on critics of police."
When a police union can publicly debase a Mayor and threaten the citizens they're paid to protect, this should make us pause. This is not just about Eric Garner, nor is this just about Michael Brown, this is about a systemic problem that has been allowed to go on for way to long.

I keep hearing readers tell me that "we are better than this". Well to you I say, evidentially not.

Below, two recent stories of cops being, oh do I dare say it, racist:

Police Officer In Ohio Acts Racist, Gets Caught And Then Blames It All On Immaturity

An auxiliary officer with the Fairview Park Police Department, who had written that black people should be "exterminated," resigned from the force last week.

Two Ohio Cops Suspended With Pay Over ‘I Hate N***ers, I’ll Stab A Coon’ Texts

Two cops were suspended in Ohio after the Dayton chapter of the NAACP brought a string of racist texts to the attention of authorities.

Captain Thomas Flanders and Michael Sollenberger, a detective, both working for Montgomery County, Ohio, were placed on indefinite leave with pay for their part in the scandal.

The department has not released the names of three others who were implicated in the texts, and the individuals have not been suspended, though Sheriff Phil Plummer did confess that the investigation is “in its early stages.”

WHIO-TV reports that it was NAACP Dayton President Derrick Forward who brought the racist texts to light. He would not reveal how he got them or the names of anyone who may have provided them.

What do you think should happen if these allegations turn out to be true, readers? Is it possible for an officer to effectively do their duty while harboring racial biases or telling racist jokes? Should the cops suspended be fired altogether?

An eye for an eye only leaves the world blind. Hey Merica, you claim to be a Christian nation, with Christmas upon us, how about proving to the world that you are indeed a civilized nation and not some rogue killing machine. America kills more humans via gun by nine am, than the entire world does in a day.

There are three problems in this country as I see it, the preponderance and overwhelming amount of guns in this country, mental illness, and the systemic and epidemic problems in policing of our communities.

With 400 million guns in this country, a failure to check the NRA - and a gun lobby that owns politicians, can we really do better?

SMART GUNS

ARMATIX SMART GUN TECHNOLOGY

How do you eliminate a majority of gun murders in the United States, use smart guns. But, because this technology involves the word "smart" - ignorant gun huggers are having any part of it.

Smart guns, the iPhone of weaponry?

Technology has been proven to solve today's greatest social challenges, and curbing gun violence in this country is one of the greatest challenges we face as a country.

There is a battle going on in the U.S. over the development and sale of so-called "smart guns" — handguns that proponents say should improve safety and lower gun murder rates because they can only be fired by owners.

The main opponent is the Ammosexual Association, better known as the National Rifle Association. But it will not speak. The Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader left six messages on the phone and with a secretary over two weeks for the one spokesman designated to talk to the media, Andrew Arulanandam, in the national office in Virginia. He did not respond. Eventually, the newspaper requested someone — anyone — to send a statement on the group's position on smart guns. The organization never replied.

Currently, there is not a gun dealer in the U.S. willing to offer a smart gun for sale. A company called Armatix, based in Germany with an office in California, this year had two gun dealers — one in Maryland and one in California — ready to offer its .22-caliber handgun. The safety measure is a stopwatch worn on the wrist that sends a radio transmission, with a range of 10 inches, to the gun. The radio transmission enables the gun to fire.

The company promoted the breakthrough, and the national media jumped on the news. As a result, the two gun-shop owners were thrust into the eye of a national storm. They caught overwhelming criticism from gun owners and Second Amendment proponents. Both backed down and decided not to sell the gun.

"I won't touch it again," says Andy Raymond, 34, who owns Engage Armament in Rockville, Md. He had agreed to sell the gun simply because he thought he could pick up a few more customers. But his life changed when Armatix put him front and center in a media campaign.

Smart guns, a technology without a market? Smart gun technology, like most things that escape the cognitive thought process of the low educated gun hugger - the fear of not being able or willing to accept things that are not within your IQ capability - is a travesty in itself, multiply this and the number of innocent humans being killed by "responsible gun huggers" - then smart guns seems like a very viable option.

"Propaganda works best when the audience, when those who are being manipulated are confident that they are acting on their own free will." Fox News and the NRA are masters at this. Fear the ignorant beast that knows no better.

Imagine a gun that could never be turned against you by an intruder, a gun that would never go off in the hands of a child accidentally, a gun that would be useless as a paperweight if it were stolen.

Unfortunately, a technology that could significantly improve gun safety in America and prevent certain acts of violence has become caught up in a hopelessly polarized national gun debate - and the country is yet again held hostage by the NRA.

One might think gun-rights advocates would be eager to remove some of the most powerful arguments for limiting the sale of firearms. But they aren’t. The National Rifle Association plays up the fact that, for now, “smart guns” are less reliable and more expensive. Gun-rights advocates worry that the technology that renders a gun inoperable in the hands of thief could also allow the government to shut a gun down in the hands of a legitimate owner. But the biggest reason for the opposition to “smart guns” stems from the fear that they will prompt a ban on ordinary guns.

This mentality, like when Obama was elected, that he and DOJ top dog Eric Holder would go door-to-door confiscating guns. Yes this ignorance is matched - by none.

When does America, a country of 350 million, say fuck you to the NRA, a membership of only 4 million. When does the NRA stop bullying this country, our gun stores and our politicians? Until we put these greedy bastards in their place, only then can we start to use "smart" technology.

GOD BLESS TED CRUZ'S IGNORANCE AND STUPIDITY

TED CRUZ AWARDED NUMBNUTZ OF THE YEAR 2014

Rachel Maddow reports on how political grandstanding against President Obama's immigration actions by Ted Cruz in the Senate allowed Senate Democrats more time to confirm more presidential nominees, including Vivek Murthy for Surgeon General.

How the pompous have fallen on their own petard.
