IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT

The countdown to the apocalypse is on.

We’re just hours away from Dec. 21, 2012, the date that the ancient Mayan Long Count calendar allegedly marked as the end of an era that would reset the date to zero and signal the end of humanity.

With the end of the world just hours away, what will I decide for the last supper?

So much to do and such little time. The boss is worried about which meetings I shall attend tomorrow, I tell him no worries the world is ending. He didn’t see the humor – but I was being quite serious.

When the world ends, do I bend over and kiss my sweet ass goodbye? Do I worry about clean underwear? Do I ask the neighbors to keep an eye on the house while I am away? Do I stop the mail from being delivered? Do I turn off the water running to the crib? Do I make my bed? What should be my first words to GOD, “thanks for creating GOPers, we needed the laughs”? What I should I wear to the pearly gates? Are shorts and a t-shirt acceptable for judgment day or is this a black tie affair?

Slavery's abolition was not the end of America. Letting African-Americans vote was not the end of America. Allowing women to vote was not the end of America. Social Security was not the end of America. Unemployment insurance and worker's compensation were not the end of America. Medicare, Medicaid and Head Start were not the end of America. The G.I. Bill was not the end of America. The Miranda Warnings were not the end of America. The Civil Rights movement was not the end of America. The Environmental Protection Agency was not the end of America. The end of Don't Ask, Don't Tell was not the end of America.

Somehow I am sure America shall survive Obamacare.





William F. Buckley once described conservatives as those who "stand athwart history and yell 'stop!'". For some reason, he thought this was a good thing.

Twenty years from now, the teapublicans will be pledging that they want
to "protect" Obamacare, just as they claim they want to "protect" Medicaid and Social Security today. That's because they can't say their true goal is to destroy those programs.

Every progressive advance in human rights throughout our history was opposed by some form of these radical tea baggers. And every time they have tried to turn back the clock and eliminate one of those advances, they have failed. Bush failed to privatize Social Security and Ryan failed to killed Medicaid.

As we all know, anything not tea bagger is always going to destroy America.

A Graduate From The School Of Glenn “The Prophet” Beck?

Bachmann Predicted The World Would End In 2006: ‘We Are In The Last Days’

As GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann (R-MN) surges in the polls, more information is coming to light about her past that reveal the depths of her political and religious extremism. The Bachmanns’ counseling clinic practices discredited and damaging ex-gay therapy to “cure” homosexuality.

Slate’s Dave Weigel has reported an audio recording of Bachmann praying for the notoriously anti-gay ministry You Can Run But You Can’t Hide, run by the radical preacher Bradlee Dean. Bachmann offered the prayer in 2006 (though the recording was uploaded in 2008). In it, Bachmann predicts, “We are in the last days,” and says, “The harvest is at hand” — a Biblical allusion to the Rapture when some believe God will take saved Christians from the earth and leave the non-believers to face several years of torment and tribulation before the second coming of Christ:

BACHMANN: Lord, the day is at hand. We are in the last days. You are a Jehovah God. We know that the times are in your hands. And we give them to you…The day is at hand, Lord, when your return will come nigh. Nothing is more important than bringing sheep into the fold. Than bringing new life into the kingdom…You have weeded that garden. The harvest is at hand.

As Weigel noted, it’s not terribly surprising that Bachmann is among those evangelical Christians who believe the end of the world is imminent. But it’s still disconcerting that someone campaigning to lead America into the future believes that its days are numbered and millions of its citizens are doomed. Bachmann has toned down her religious rhetoric considerably since hitting the campaign trail.

Also jarring is Bachmann’s belief that “nothing is more important than” converting people before the world ends. As she weighs in on critical debates like whether or not to let the U.S. default on its obligations, it’s troubling that Bachmann is rooting for the apocalypse.

During the prayer session Bachmann asked God to expand the anti-gay ministry of Bradlee Dean. Dean has been described as “Bachmann’s Jeremiah Wright” since his radical statements pose a political problem for the candidate. Dean has repeatedly called for gays and lesbians to be put in prison and has said executing gays is “moral.” He also directs his invective at Muslims and Democrats.

What is this fascination between the radical republican and the end of day’s rhetoric? Bachmann must have been Glenn Beck’s first graduate.

And as it was foretold, lo, there was great wailing and gnashing of teeth as the Great Prophet Beck continued to pummel those who would not believe with babbling words and strange and foreign ideas. And the non-believers turned and said one to another "What manner of man is this who can look over the hedgerow and see things that do not exist?" And the lefties and Muslims plotted against the Prophet, "How can we have him fall silent so that he can no longer torture our ears so?"

28 days (Beck's last day on Faux News is June 30th) on television is a long time for the prophet of God who has now publicly indicated God has chosen him to save us and the Jewish people from certain genocide at the hands of not only Muslims but those on the left. This is the proclamation he now owns. How long can this madness continue? Here we have a radio shock jock asserting himself as the Messiah. Can it get any creepier?




Glenn Becks Messiah Complex has run rampant for many months now. (A messiah complex (also known as the Christ complex or savior complex) is a state of mind in which an individual holds a belief they are, or are destined to become, a savior).

Beck's speeches often sound like a schlocky Spider-Man soliloquy. Maybe the evil coming is Doctor Octopus!


Personally I don't think beck has the gift of being able to find his posterior with both hands, but as long as he's just slightly more gifted and blessed than his typical fan, he's got a gig somewhere. A few readings if you will from the Book of Beckocalyspe:

You shall be put out of the temple where large hailstones shall fall on your heads because you did not heed my warning to always carry an umbrella, and your feet will burn in the fire where I shall standing not wanting shoes because I am adorned with Asbestos socks."

Praise be to Beck, and the Trinity ( O'Riley, Hanity, Ailes and Faux News) and remember Beck's children -buy gold and disaster relief rations, for then and only then will all be good with the world.
