"IT'S RARE THAT YOU SEE SOMEONE GET STUPIDER BEFORE YOUR EYES"

Billionaire businessman Mark Cuban was once friends with GOP candidate Donald Trump. But that relationship seems to have gone south in the course of Trump’s bid for president.

Recently, Dallas Mavericks owner and “Shark Tank” star Cuban was asked by Extra to weigh in on Trump — and his response was not flattering.
“You know what? It’s rare that you see someone get stupider before your eyes, but he’s really working at it,'” Cuban said. “You have to give him credit. It’s a difficult thing to do, but he’s accomplished it.”
Cuban also revealed he hasn’t talked to Trump in weeks.

“He sent me an email when I started picking on him,” Cuban said. “What happened was I really didn’t like Ted Cruz, so I started helping Donald, tried to encourage him, ’cause I thought he’d be, and to this day thought he’d be a better candidate than Ted Cruz… But at some point, you’ve got to start learning and understanding the issues, you know? Donald has been at this a year but you don’t look at him and say, ‘Wow, he’s gotten so much smarter on this topic or that topic.’ In fact, you look at him and say, ‘What the hell are you talking about?’ That’s not good for America.”

Cuban challenged Extra host Renee Bargh to name one good deal Trump has done.

“I can’t,” she said.
“Neither can he,” Cuban shot back, adding, “He’d get kicked out of ‘Shark Tank’ so fast, it would make your head spin.”

JAMES INHOFE IS A SPECIAL KIND OF STUPID

Wednesday was a big day for conservative for flat earth society member and wing nut Sen. James Inhofe . In the morning, he officially took the gavel as chairman of the Senate’s Environment Committee. In the afternoon, he took the Senate floor for a long speech about how human-caused climate change is fake.

In sum, the speech has everything. References to the oft-debunked “ClimateGate” stolen e-mail “scandal”, a poster of a Time Magazine cover from 1974 claiming an ice age is coming, and multiple references to former Vice President Al Gore. It has a mention of a survey of weather-casters who think global warming is caused by natural variation, but does not mention that weather-casters are not climate scientists. It even includes the claim that the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change “started” the whole idea that climate change is happening, even though the idea was conceived about 200 years ago.

The video above actually begins a couple minutes in to Inhofe’s speech, with a quote from Richard Lindzen, a former MIT professor and one of the most-cited voices of scientists who think global warming is fake. Lindzen, an atmospheric physicist, has often been characterized as having contrarian scientific opinions. He has also said that the evidence that cigarettes cause lung cancer is not “so strong that one should rule that any questions were out of order.”

Behind Inhofe in the beginning of the video is a list of climate scientists — Lindzen included — who don’t agree with the vast majority of climate scientists who say human-caused carbon emissions are contributing to climate change. Inhofe says he has compiled a list of 4,000 “renowned scientists” scientists who disagree (“this is all in my website,” he said). Inhofe’s list actually has 650 people, some of whom are television meteorologists, geologists, anthropologists, and even a man with no college degree.

Conversely, one of the most recent peer-reviewed studies on the state of climate science showed that out of 4000 abstracts from peer-reviewed papers published in the past 21 years that stated a position on the cause of global warming — 97 percent of these endorsed the point that it was human-caused. In the video, Inhofe says this is “just not true.”

Inhofe also criticizes climatologist Michael Mann’s famous hockey stick graph, which displayed temperatures going back half a millennium, and cites the controversy it received as a reason to believe climate change is fake. He does not mention that the National Academy of Sciences vindicated the hockey stick graph in 2006 as good science, as have multiple other peer-reviewed studies since.

It’s also worthwhile to point out that even if the hockey stick was wrong, even if it didn’t exist, we would still have enough scientific evidence to prove climate change is real and caused by humans. “Climate deniers like to make it seem like the entire weight of evidence for climate change rests on the hockey stick,” Mann told the Atlantic in 2013. “And that’s not the case. We could get rid of all these reconstructions, and we could still know that climate change is a threat, and that we’re causing it.”

Don’t expect this speech to be the end of climate denial in the Senate. Indeed, Inhofe ended his speech by promising more of it, citing his new position as head of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.
“Now I’m back in that position so we’ll have a chance to have hearings, and Mr. President, we’re going to have hearings with prominent scientists to come in and talk about this thing,” he said. “We’ll be there to be the truth-squad.”
James Inhofe, you are this week's worst person of the week. Congrats numbnutz!

FETAL MASTURBATION THEORY

WHAT DO FETUS' MASTURBATE TO YOU ASK?

Bill Maher has heard and mocked a lot of controversial American Taliban-er statements over the years, and yet he found this week's remarks by a Texas American Taliban-er - that fetuses can masturbate to be more ridiculous than anything The Onion could ever come up with. Maher asked that it is given that these right wing nut jobs try to one-up each other with shockingly ridiculous comments about rape and abortion and fetuses masturbating, what does it take in this day and age to actually embarrass the American Taliban?

VIDEO Courtesy of HBO:

In case you missed it, Michael Burgess, doing what he does best, and that is being an idiot!

FETAL MASTURBATION:

Science finally has weighed in for the GOP, they actually get it, well, no, this is one of those instances where you truly say WTF, "now I've heard everything".

While I appreciate the fodder, I have learned way to much about the American Taliban's fascination with fetus masturbation, and never in this life did I dare imagine that I'd be blogging about the subject at hand.

Congratulations GOP, you folks truly do bring stupid to a new level, my hats off to you!

Faux News Viewers Again Top Stupid List

Study after study, year after year, polls prove that Faux News viewers are a little less than coherent on topics or subject matter regarding national politics and worldly affairs .

Quick, were Egyptian protesters successful in their bid to overthrow longtime president Hosni Mubarak earlier this year?

According to a new poll from Fairleigh Dickinson University, if you watch Faux News you are significantly less likely to know the correct answer to that question than if you mostly avoid news shows and newspapers all together.

"Faux News viewers are less informed than people who don't watch any news, according to a new poll from Fairleigh Dickinson University."

The poll surveyed New Jersey residents about the uprisings in Egypt and the Middle East, and where they get their news sources. The study, which controlled for demographic factors like education and partisanship, found that "people who watch Faux News are 18-points less likely to know that Egyptians overthrew their government" and "6-points less likely to know that Syrians have not yet overthrown their government" compared to those who watch no news.

Overall, 53% of all respondents knew that Egyptians successfully overthrew Hosni Mubarak and 48% knew that Syrians have yet to overthrow their government.

Dan Cassino, a political science professor at Fairleigh Dickinson, explained in a statement:
"Because of the controls for partisanship, we know these results are not just driven by Republicans or other groups being more likely to watch Fox News. Rather, the results show us that there is something about watching Fox News that leads people to do worse on these questions than those who don’t watch any news at all."
This isn't the first study that has found that Faux News viewers are more misinformed in comparison to others. Last year, a study from the University of Maryland found that Faux News viewers were more likely to believe false information about politics.

This speaks volumes about the quality and style of Faux News, but also about the makeup and intellectual prowess of their audience. This is truly amazing, imagine what abysmal journalism this must be, for people who don’t watch any news to know more than Faux viewers! News can inform people, if done properly, but Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch et al would rather interject bullshit and fear into its' ["the most watched news source"] viewers.

Roger Ailes and Faux News deliberately manipulate it's news coverage and its effective, just review the plethora of polls suggesting that its viewers are a benighted group.

Credit to huffpo and old friend BP for this story.

Post Script: To my neighbor R.S. and to the facebook chum whom was hurt and won his purple heart from playing basketball on the gym court......quit watching Faux News for your an ignorant lot

Bachmann Fails American History......AGAIN!

Michele Bachmann dumbfounded yet again.
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) made a high profile trip to New Hampshire today as part of a potential 2012 presidential run, but the tea party favorite, who often refers to the early days of the Republic in speeches and media appearances, embarrassingly mangled basic American history, incorrectly stating that the battles of Lexington and Concord, and the Pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock, to have occurred in New Hampshire, instead of Massachusetts:

“What I love about New Hampshire and what we have in common is our extreme love for liberty,” the potential GOP presidential candidate said. “You’re the state where the shot was heard around the world in Lexington and Concord. And you put a marker in the ground and paid with the blood of your ancestors the very first price that had to be paid to make this the most magnificent nation that has ever arisen in the annals of man in 5,000 years of recorded history.” [...]
“I’m thankful that you are the first in the nation state because you are the liberty state,” Bachmann said. “That is your charge. You keep that baton of liberty. You’ve done it very well for almost 20 generations from the time the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock, and I’m sure the very first one came up to New Hampshire and said, ‘This is where I want to be.
Of course, as the school children in attendance at the speech could likely tell her, the Battles of Lexington and Concord that sparked the American revolution in 1775, and the Pilgrims’ landing, took place in Massachusetts, not New Hampshire, “but Bachmann did not correct her error when she referenced the battles again later in her speech.” Ironically, The Republican Liberty Caucus of New Hampshire, which hosted the event, handed out pocket-sized copies of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution “on a table a few feet from where Bachmann spoke.”

This is hardly the first time Bachmann has flubbed the country’s basic history. She has repeatedly pronounced that America was founded on diversity and guaranteed freedom for all from its beginning, completely whitewashing the existence of slavery from America’s past. In January, CNN host Anderson Cooper lambasted Bachmann for “flunking history,” saying her diversity comments were “either a deliberate rewriting of our history, or signs that she has a shaky grasp on our history.”

NFTOS is never disappointed when it comes to Michele Bachmann. She suffers from major foot-in-mouth disease.

I try pretty hard to not be judgmental and to try to look at things from different perspectives to understand where a person is coming from. I've tried that with Michelle Bachman (R-MN06) too, but I'm sorry, she's just nuts. There's no two ways about it. And then there was her statement that Americans like working two jobs. Maybe that should have tipped me off.

In addition to being a little off keel, Bachmann's track record has proven she is also a full-fledged nutjob. The type of person that makes you turn to your friend the moment she gets up to use the bathroom and mouth "She's craaaaaaazy," complete with hand motions and bug-eyes.

Bachmann has claimed that many of her career moves have been dictated by messages from God. Abraham, Moses.

If you give Michele Bachmann a microphone, there's a pretty solid chance she'll say something stupid. The kinds of statements that leave you speechless - not because you don't know how to respond, but because there is no applicable response to gibberish.

Here's a sampling of her work:

"Don't Palinize Me!"

"Not all cultures are equal."

"We're running out of rich people in this country."

""I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under another Democrat president Jimmy Carter. And I'm not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it's an interesting coincidence."

"Little children will be forced to learn that homosexuality is normal and natural and perhaps they should try it."
Michele Bachmann's statements are so inane that at some level, one has must cut her some slack. Why? No one human can really be this out of tune with reality....or can they. No real person acts like this, or do they.

Bachmann is often found riding the crazy train.

NFTOS Editor-in-chief Roger West is often quoted as saying in our daily horseshoe meetings... "as if there isn't already enough fruits and nuts within the republican basket, what's one more added to the fray"?

NFTOS would love to see a Palin-Bachmann Presidential ticket, for there would never be an easier win for the Democratic ticket, one might conclude a landslide to be in order.

One thing this is for sure - You Can't Fix Stupid!
