GUNS, A TALE OF TWO EPICENTERS

Joshua "We Deserve Better" Boston

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing and police officials said last Thursday gun play in their city was the leading cause of criminal deaths in 2012.

Detroit Murder Numbers

Of the 386 criminal homicides the city recorded, 333 were caused by guns.
"America has a problem with guns, but the epicenter seems to be here in Detroit," said Interim Police Chief Chester Logan. “As the chief of police in the city of Detroit, I take a certain amount of blame for the spiraling gun play in the city. But one of the things you should realize, and everybody here in this room should realize, is that gun play is a national problem.”
Detroit's year-end crime statistics were detailed during a briefing Thursday at City Hall.

Overall, the city saw a 2.6 percent decrease in major crimes -- aggravated assault, burglary and rape. The city saw increases in homicides, car theft and robbery.

Bing said he is sitting down with Roy Roberts, the emergency manager of Detroit Public Schools, to have a conversation about getting involved with the city's young people.
"We've got wrap our arms as best we can around these young folks and let them know that when they get into these kinds of situation it doesn't necessitate a gun, it doesn't have to necessitate a fight," Bing said. "For all of the problems we have in Detroit, from a fiscal standpoint, if we don't make sure that our kids get the right kind of education so that they are prepared for jobs of tomorrow, we're still not going to fix the city."

"We really need to reach out to our entire community. Everybody has a role to play. It's a terrible problem that we're confronted with right now and it's going to take efforts from all of us to really solve the problem," Bing said.

When asked if he thought armed guards should be in schools, Bing said he wasn't in favor of the idea.
"I don't think more guns in the school is going to solve the problem," Bing said. "We've just lost respect for each other, loss respect for life. In some kind of way, all of us got to get involved in this for this next generation."

Tea baggers run amuck on social media [as if they found the arc of the covenant] with FBI statistics showing that hammers kill more than "rifles", yet these same gun huggers fail to look at the entire scope of weapons; and the facts are, 30 thousand citizens are killed a year by guns, and countless others are maimed or wounded severely. Often the case, gun huggers facts don't always constitute true facts.

Arming a gun hugger and or an American Taliban with partial facts is - as dangerous as arming a mass killer. "Take into account the second part of a tale of two epicenters".

In an open letter to Senator Dianne Feinstein, a Corporal [Joshua Boston] whom served 8 years in the United States Marines has fired back at the Senator in hard hitting straight to the point diatribe on why he is entitled his right to not abide for future laws:

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

Respectfully Submitted,
Joshua Boston
Cpl, United States Marine Corps
2004-2012

Boston, now out of the service, admits he owns guns - 'a hobby if you will', he writes on one blog.

Boston Serving His Country

I would ask the CPL or any other gun hugger, do we want our communities, school, work zones registered as "combat zones"? The first comment to the veterans blog was:

I would tell Mr. Boston - our country has long since been removed from mandatory service [draft] to its military. Mr. Boston signed freely and without reservation upon his own "sound state of mind" to defend. This cause, to serve is a right and just one to do, but it does not constitute free reign to break laws.

While I appreciate his service to the country, Boston did it willingly, his "hobby as he calls" it, is not a entitlement to break future gun laws. The corporal slams the Senator saying, "we deserve better". I would say to Mr. Boston, the shoe fits to you as well.

Boston With His Hobby

If the Feinstein law passes, there is no doubt, and I am confident that one way or the other, the eight year tenured "Corporal" will one way or the other comply with the future gun laws.

I remember a marine not long ago, feeling his oats as well, tried to buck the system if you will, and tried to not obey the Presidents orders, this story, like Boston's, shall unfortunately not end in the favor of this beloved patriot.

There are over 320 million citizens in our country, and there are 320 million different interpretations of the; Bill of Rights and the US Constitution. Until we all come to the same understanding, only then will the senseless murders via guns be controlled.

This Cuckoo Clock Always Makes the Same Noise

THE ANTICHRIST HERSELF MICHELE BACHMANN

The 112th Congress closed on Thursday afternoon without passing either the relief package for victims of Hurricane Sandy or reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act, but Rep. Michele “Bat Shit Crazy” Bachmann isn’t too concerned about finishing what Republicans had left undone. Instead, at exactly 12:00 PM she introduced the very first piece of legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which states are now busily implementing.

The American Taliban has unsuccessfully voted 33 times in the last two years to eliminate health care reform, wasting 88 hours and $50 million – and never once passed a single piece of job creation legislation while in session.

A plethora of tea baggers, including 2012 presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, ran against Obamacare, yet the party suffered massive losses at every turn. The Supreme Court upheld the law, House repeal efforts went nowhere in the Democratically-controlled Senate, and President Obama has pledged to veto any effort to rescind the measure. Even John Boehner, who was compelled to admit in November that Obamacare is now the law of the land (though he later backed peddled away from his own comments and pledged to do everything in his power to clip its wings).

The American Taliban is apparently not quite ready to give up this fight. Jumping so quickly out of the gate, they could at this rate - be on track to becoming less productive than the last congress, whom is being billed as the least productive Congress in U.S. history.

Maybe “Batshit Crazy” Bachmann could present a bill that would rid herself of all her own health benefits - since she obviously does not believe that access to healthcare is important for all Americans. Show us what a true patriot you are Michele, lead by example!

Albert Einstein once said "Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results." Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best solutions for sitting congressmen and women:
"I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election

THEY CALL ME TRANSVAGINAL BOB

Transvaginal Bob McDonnell Does It Again

Transvaginal Bob McDonnell tried to pull a slick one. This foot soldier for the American Taliban thought he could slip this one by. Maybe a better name for McDonnell would be "slick Willie", "tricky DICK", no that one is taken, lets just stick with Transvaginal Bob!

In yet another power grab to push the American Taliban's ideology down our throats, Transvaginal Bob and his choke and puke govna-ship has certified regulations that will make woman's choice a little bit harder to conduct.

MADDOW SLAMMING TRANSVAGINAL BOB

From various sources - Gov. Bob McDonnell has certified health regulations that impose strict hospital construction standards on Virginia abortion clinics -- triggering the next step in a multitiered approval process that could make the revised rules permanent by this summer.

Unlike the public relations ballyhoo that accompanies many executive actions, McDonnell, an anti-abortion Republican, certified the regulations and had them posted to the Virginia Town Hall website without a public announcement on the Friday between the Christmas and New Year's holidays.

The signoff comes more than three months after the rules were adopted in September by the state Board of Health at a contentious meeting during which abortion-rights advocates claimed board members were being intimidated into changing their decision in June to grandfather existing clinics from the building requirements.

Members of abortion-rights advocacy groups reacted strongly to the governor's approval in statements released Monday.
"After two years of shocking backroom deals and bullying public health servants, Gov. Bob McDonnell is clearly proving his disregard of Virginians' opinions about women's health care," said Tarina Keene, executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia.

Keene accused McDonnell and Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, also an anti-abortion Republican, of using their offices to push "an ideological agenda that is out of touch with the residents of this state" -- and pushing the commonwealth toward having some of the most "extreme state abortion laws" in the country.

McDonnell spokesman J. Tucker Martin said the regulations are a product of legislation that passed the General Assembly in 2011 and went through an extensive public comment process and detailed agency review that followed the same process that all proposed changes to regulations undergo in Virginia.
"The governor believes these common-sense regulations will help ensure that this medical procedure takes place in facilities that are modern, safe and well-regulated, in order to help ensure the safety and well-being of all patients," Martin said.

McDonnell's approval initiates a 60-day public comment period. Following the comment period, the regulations are sent back through the process of review by the Board of Health -- which could vote on them as early as March -- before heading to the attorney general and executive branch agencies. The permanent regulations are expected to be adopted by the summer.

Under the two-year compliance period stipulated by the Department of Health, Virginia's 20 existing abortion clinics will have until the latter half of 2014 to comply with the new regulations, which will require most of the facilities to undergo costly infrastructure changes to hallways, doorways and parking areas. Advocates say a number of the clinics could be forced to close.

The health commissioner has the authority to grant a variance to the clinics if the commissioner believes the requirements place an undue burden on a facility and determines that noncompliance in a specific area would not jeopardize patient safety and public health.

McDonnell has yet to name a replacement for Health Commissioner Karen Remley, who resigned in October. She said the development, enforcement and interpretation of the regulations outside of her office had compromised her ability to fulfill her duties.

Cuccinelli had refused to certify a change to regulations adopted by the Board of Health in June that would have grandfathered the state's 20 clinics from having to meet the new standards.

Before the meeting in September, the Attorney General's Office advised board members that their action in June did not conform to the 2011 law passed by the General Assembly. The advisory suggested that they could lose legal protection if they insisted on the grandfather provision and were sued.

While Transvaginal Bob is only a foot soldier for the American Taliban, he is no less dangerous in his ways. NFTOS is asking all Virginians disgusted with TB's actions to give him a call at 804- 786-2211 and let him know your thoughts.

KWANZAA; A PLOT TO DESTROY AMERICA

While outrage about the so-called war on Christmas has died down for another year, Wisconsin state Senator Glenn Grothman (R) has launched a new war on Kwanzaa, claiming it is a fake holiday invented by racist radicals who want to “divide America.”

In a press release entitled “Why Must We Still Hear About Kwanzaa,” Grothman ranted that Kwanzaa is a holiday celebrated by “left wing nuts” because “they don’t like America and seek to destroy it.” Grothman is comforted by his belief that “almost all black people ignore” Kwanzaa, but is deeply troubled by the fact that schools are teaching the holiday:
Irresponsible public school districts such as Green Bay and Madison (and who knows how many others…) try to tell a new generation that blacks have a separate holiday than Christians…But why do they do it? They don’t like America and seek to destroy it by pretending that its values as expressed in the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution, don’t apply to everyone. Mainstream Americans must be more outspoken on this issue. It’s time it’s slapped down once and for all…Be on the lookout if a K-12 or college teacher tries to tell your children or grandchildren it’s a real holiday.

Kwanzaa, which occurs from December 26 to January 1, was created in 1966 as a way for African Americans to connect to their heritage and culture. It has been widely accepted as a legitimate holiday. While Grothman believes the holiday divides America, Kwanzaa centers around the seven principles of unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. Its founder, Ron Karenga, whom Grothman calls a “violent nut,” explained, “People may celebrate either or all of the year-end holidays” as Kwanzaa is a cultural holiday focusing on sharing a “special cultural truth” with the world. Former President George W. Bush praised the holiday as “an opportunity to focus of family, community, and history.”

You can't beat stupid, and the American Taliban is in no shortage of it!

FROM MAVERICK TO SWAY BACK PACK HORSE

John McCain Becoming Irrelevant Before Our Eyes

We all know that the American Taliban is a delicate sensitive flower, and it's also a foregone conclusion that John McCain is bitter old white man - because he took an ass-whipping in the Presidential Election in 2008.

Minutes after President Barack Obama left a stage flanked by supporters where he implored Congressional Republicans to support a tentative deal to avoid going over the fiscal cliff, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) took to the floor of the Senate to accuse the president of “antagonizing” Republicans. He said that, based on the president’s casual press conference, he and the American people have to wonder whether Obama believes it is in his interest to go over the cliff.

In his speech to his fellow colleagues in the Senate on Monday, McCain did not express any faith that Obama’s press conference had moved the ball forward on negotiations to resolve the fiscal cliff:
“What did the President of the United States just do,” McCain asked. “Well, he kind of made fun – he made a couple of jokes. Laughed about how people are going to be here for New Years. Sent a message of confrontation to the Republicans; I believe he said, ‘if they think they’re going to do that, they’ve got another thought coming.’

“I guess I have to wonder – and the American people have to wonder – whether the president really wants this issue resolved, or is it to his short term political benefit for us to go over the cliff,” McCain added. “I can assure the president, I can assure him, that historians judge presidents on their achievements.”

Getting the Tea-baggers to "Yes" to anything the last 3 years has been virtually impossible. The American Taliban has been mocked for years, why is John so upset now?

The biggest bully in the Senate races to the floor and decries the President for “antagonizing” Republicans? That's rich. The GOP has spent four years antagonizing Obama and then when he doesn't bite they accuse him of being aloof and not caring. They have called him every name in the book, voted against any bill that would help the country, have not put forth any plan of their own - and now their feelings are hurt - and Obama may have lost votes?

American Taliban Priorities: To hell with the American people -- Obama hurt our feelings! I am so glad to see that the American Taliban continues to maintain a perspective regarding what factors they deem most important when making critical policy decisions.

John, a message to you and your kind: Your party is antiquated, your ideals are no longer the order of our country. The GOP was perfect and most suitable for let's say, 1776, not so much circa 2013. Take a seat old man, your sniveling and whining is best suited for someone dawning a diaper. You are to be commended for you service as a veteran, don't tarnish this with being a bitter old man. You are truly morphing from maverick to sway back pack horse before our very eyes. Sticks and stones may break my bone....................

THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION IS ANTIQUATED?

THE ANTIQUATED US CONSTITTUTION

Say it isn't so! Tell me another doesn't agree with me? The U.S. Constitution is antiquated?

Georgetown University constitutional law professor Louis Michael Seidman has just about had it with the focus of his 40 years of academic study. As he writes in the New York Times on Monday, it is the Constitution itself which has allowed for the series of legislative follies that finally resulted in the “fiscal cliff.” Seidman says that it is time for Americans to realize what lawmakers have known since the constitution’s inception – it is okay to ignore it.
“As the nation teeters at the edge of fiscal chaos, observers are reaching the conclusion that the American system of government is broken. But almost no one blames the culprit: our insistence on obedience to the Constitution, with all its archaic, idiosyncratic and downrght evil provisions,” Seidman writes.

Our obsession with the Constitution has saddled us with a dysfunctional political system, kept us from debating the merits of divisive issues and inflamed our public discourse. Instead of arguing about what is to be done, we argue about what James Madison might have wanted done 225 years ago.

Seidman goes on to detail the number of American politicians who have used every opportunity to sideline the Constitution; from John Adams to Abraham Lincoln to Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
“In the face of this long history of disobedience, it is hard to take seriously the claim by the Constitution’s defenders that we would be reduced to a Hobbesian state of nature if we asserted our freedom from this ancient text,” Seidman adds.

He says that the freedoms enshrined in the Bill of Rights are time-tested and should be preserved, but the system of established powers. Seidman says that there is a real threat that American dysfunctional governance could rend the republic sunder, and it is far more preferable that the Constitution be junked than the Union.

Seidman concludes that, though Americans will probably not give up on Constitution any time soon, his recommendation is the best of a series of bad choices facing the nation:
If even this change is impossible, perhaps the dream of a country ruled by “We the people” is impossibly utopian. If so, we have to give up on the claim that we are a self-governing people who can settle our disagreements through mature and tolerant debate. But before abandoning our heritage of self-government, we ought to try extricating ourselves from constitutional bondage so that we can give real freedom a chance.

The American Taliban hangs on to the Constitution like it was the Bible itself, it's sad that we can't say the same about the real Bible!

Lindsey Graham, An American Taliban Foot Soldier

Lindsey Graham, Republican In Name Only, Foot Soldier For The American Taliban

"Do exactly what I say or I will destroy you." The American Taliban are an incompetent brand of humans, and are the most dangerous and destructive threat facing America today.

Although official Washington is currently fixated on the so-called “Fiscal Cliff,” the biggest threat to American prosperity is the debt ceiling, which must be raised in February to prevent economic catastrophe. If Republicans refuse to reach a deal on the so-called cliff, the Congressional Budget Office predicts that they will spark a new recession in 2013. But if Republicans block action on the debt ceiling, they will make that potential recession look quaint. Without raising the debt ceiling, the United States will be forced to embrace austerity so severe it will lead to “a bigger GDP drop than that experienced during the Great Recession of 2008.”

But in an interview on Fox News Sunday this morning, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) threatened to oppose this must-pass bill unless Social Security benefits are taken away from millions of future retirees:
I’m not going to raise the debt ceiling unless we get serious about keeping the country from becoming Greece, saving Social Security and Medicare [sic]. So here’s what i would like: meaningful entitlement reform — not to turn Social Security into private accounts, not to take a voucher approach to Medicare — but, adjust the age for Social Security, CPI changes and means testing and look beyond the ten-year window. I cannot in good conscience raise the debt ceiling without addressing the long term debt problems of this country and I will not.

This is extortion, plain and simple. It is the budgetary equivalent of threatening to break America’s legs unless Congress agrees to break the backs of millions poised on the edge of retirement. Graham’s position is that seniors should have to wait longer for their retirement benefits — even if they work in physically demanding jobs that literally tear the body apart by the time a worker reaches age 65 — and that those benefits should be reduced in the future.

And if Congress won’t agree to this deal, then Graham is prepared to thrust the nation into an economic calamity unheard of since the Great Depression.

THE NRA AND VIDEO GAMES

In a controversial diatribe last Friday, Wayne LaPierre, CEO of the National Rifle Association, blamed lax security, natural disasters, and, most of all, violent video games for the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT that claimed 27 lives. Despite the NRA’s public condemnation of violent entertainment, the New York Times explains, the gun industry is closely entwined with the gaming industry.

In one recent example of this relationship, the gaming company behind the Medal of Honor series launched a promotional website with links to the catalogs of two major gun manufacturers:
Links on the Medal of Honor site allowed visitors to click through on the Web sites of the game’s partners and peruse their catalogs.

“It was almost like a virtual showroom for guns,” said Ryan Smith, who contributes to the Gameological Society, an online gaming magazine. After Mr. Smith and other gaming enthusiasts criticized the site, Electronic Arts disabled the links, saying it had been unaware of them.

Gun manufacturers also grant video game companies licenses to depict real makes and models of weapons. Though these games are now taking heat from the gun lobby for encouraging violent behavior, they continue to serve as a valuable marketing tool for the industry.

The NRA’s scapegoating of virtual reality seems to be an attempt to deflect calls for more robust gun safety measures. Despite the NRA’s claims, there is no correlation between violent video games and violent behavior in real life. There is, however, ample evidence that societies with more guns have more gun violence.

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN

2012 - the most important bills gunned down by the American Taliban.

Minimum Wage Increase:

House Democrats proposed legislation in June that would have raised the national minimum wage to $10 an hour, but Republicans blocked it. The minimum wage is currently $7.25 an hour, even though it would need to be raised to $9.92 to match the borrowing power it had in 1968. If it was indexed to inflation, it would be $10.40 today.

Campaign Finance Transparency:

The DISCLOSE Act of 2012, repeatedly blocked by Congressional Republicans, would have allowed voters to know who was funding the attack ads that flooded the airways from secretive groups like Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS.

The Buffett Rule:

Senate Republicans in April filibustered the Buffet Rule, which would have set a minimum tax on millionaires. Huge majorities of Americans consistently support the rule, which would raise tens of billions of dollars per year from Americans who have seen their incomes explode while their tax rates plummeted.

The Employment Non-Discrimination Act:

ENDA, which would prohibit discrimination in hiring and employment on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity, has languished in Congress for decades, and Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) “hasn’t thought much about bringing it to a vote.

U.N. Treaty to Protect the Equal Rights of the Disabled:

Republicans blocked ratification of the United Nations treaty to protect the rights of disabled people around the world, falsely claiming it would undermine parents of disabled children. In fact, the treaty would require other nations to revise their laws to resemble the Americans With Disabilities Act and had overwhelming support from veterans and disabilities groups. It failed by 5 votes.

The Paycheck Fairness Act:

It’s about to be 2013, and women are still getting paid less than men for the same job. This year the Paycheck Fairness Act came up for a vote again (previous efforts to pass the law have been unsuccessful), but the Senate GOP still couldn’t get it together to pass the legislation. Republicans oppose the measure, saying it helps trial lawyers instead of women. But the country’s female doctors, lawyers, and CEOs might be inclined to disagree

Here is the thing readers, we, you and I, are the bosses of these asshats, if we fail to act and vote these “special patriots” out of office, then we truly get what we deserve.

The American Taliban; A Special Brand of Patriots

SEND IN THE CLOWNS

The republican party is like an aging NBA basketball team with all the major players on their last legs and not a decent draft choice in sight. They don't fill the auditorium anymore because they are washed up.

Normally, and its rare, when the beast within is critical of his own kind. When those left of center are critical of the American Taliban’s extremism, it's expected. When a former aide to George W. Bush and John McCain do it, the criticism resonates a little louder. In this case, it's Mark McKinnon, who wants a new Republican Party:
Increasingly, it is becoming clear that the party is against everything and for nothing.

Nothing on taxes. Nothing on gun control. Nothing on climate change. Nothing on gay marriage. Nothing on immigration reform (or an incremental, piece-by-piece approach, which will result in nothing). It's a very odd situation when the losing party is the party refusing to negotiate. It may be how you disrupt, but it is not how you govern, or how you ever hope to regain a majority.

And so, we have a Republican Party today willing to eliminate any prospect for a decent future for anyone, including itself, if it cannot be a future that is 100 percent in accordance with its core beliefs and principles. That's not governing. That's just lobbing hand grenades. If you're only standing on principle to appear taller, then you appear smaller. And the GOP is shrinking daily before our eyes.
In fairness, when it comes to today's GOP, McKinnon is further from the Club for Growth and closer to the David Frum contingent, but the more commentary like this spreads, the more it reinforces perceptions that the radicalization of Republican politics is creating a larger political crisis.

Also posted recently, a piece from Thomas Friedman, who warned the American Taliban they will struggle so long as the party "is at war with math, physics, human biology, economics and common-sense gun laws all at the same time

The Republican party's conservative soul has been captured by Big Money and Big Media. The forces of darkness that deny global warming, the needs for better education, better public safety, better healthcare, and restoring the economy to its full potential have fallen to the wayside, constructed as false crisis and blame is assigned to entitlements and taxes. The falsehoods are a fabrication of strategists who are protecting narrow economic interests.

The republican base joined the war with math, physics, human biology, economics and common-sense gun laws willingly. It has been a well-financed effort by the Koch Brothers brand who used the anxiety welling up from the severe economic contraction to create a mass who truly believe that the greater good is served by tearing down government and deliberately cultivating a culture of ignorance and fear.

Cheers to this dysfunctional and demise of this brand of special patriots, and may these delicate flowers wither away like a four week old rose.

BRADLEE DEAN

TEA BAGGER EXTRAODINAIRE BRADLEE DEAN

Chances are you have never heard of Bradlee Dean, and yet this numb-nutz [Dean is also close pals with “Batshit” crazy Michele Bachamann, which says enough in itself] is no ordinary dipshit, not sir, in an outlandish column for WorldNetDaily, Bradlee Dean suggests that the mass shooting last week in Newtown, Connecticut, was staged in order to aid the passage of the UN Arms Trade Treaty and gun control legislation, comparing the administration's purported actions to that of the Nazis setting the Reichstag Fire.

Though WorldNetDaily often publishes conspiratorial stories like Dean's column -- the site was the driving force behind the birther movement -- it's still regularly validated by more mainstream conservatives. Last month, the site announced that they had hired former GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum as a columnist.

Dean, an "ordained preacher, heavy metal drummer, [and] talk-show host of Sons of Liberty Radio," suggests in his December 21 column that the "timing is impeccable" for both the theater shooting in Aurora and the shooting in Newtown because they happened while the UN was deliberating over the Arms Trade Treaty:
The Sandy Hook shooting occurred just days after Sen. Rand Paul sent out an alert that the U.N. was set to pass the final version of the Small Arms Treaty, supported by Obama the day after election.

Part of the treaty bans the trade, sale and ownership of all semi-automatic weapons ... like the one Adam Lanza used to kill 20 children and 6 adults.

The "Batman shooting" in Aurora, Colo., also happened to coincide with the same time as negotiations of the U.N. Small Arms Treaty.

The timing is impeccable.

Aside from its conspiratorial nature, Dean's column is also plainly inaccurate. Contrary to his suggestion that the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty would ban "the trade, sale, and ownership of all semi-automatic weapons" like the one used by Newtown shooter Adam Lanza, it does nothing of the sort. The Arms Trade Treaty is an effort to regulate the international arms trade and overtly affirms the "sovereign right" of countries to regulate the domestic ownership of firearms "pursuant to its own legal or constitutional system."

As we have previously explained, the Department of State has stated that it will oppose any treaty that contains "restrictions on civilian possession or trade of firearms otherwise permitted by law or protected by the U.S. Constitution."

Dean also provides links to several "reports" alleging inconsistencies in eyewitness accounts of several recent mass shootings in our country. He concludes that "[e]yewitnesses in all of these massacres said there were more shooters than the media maintain, indicating the shootings were coordinated and planned."

Among the sources for these "reports" are Alex Jones' InfoWars website, a forum posting at a separate Alex Jones affiliated site, and a site called "Conscious Life News." Reliable sources, all. (For a sample of the type of conspiracy-mongering Jones' websites have been engaged in this week, a few days ago they published an article proposing that the presence of the phrase "Sandy Hook" on a map in the latest Batman movie is "bizarre evidence" that the shooting "may have been staged.")

According to Dean, Obama's call for "meaningful action" and the push from others for new gun violence prevention legislation in the wake of Sandy Hook is akin to Adolf Hitler "attacking his own Reichstag to start a world war":
When the "fire" is started, these government gun banners are right there to strip away your rights in an attempt to gain control under the guise of "putting out the fire."

Adolf Hitler was responsible for attacking his own Reichstag to start a world war. Hitler was also responsible for sending his brown shirts to incite the people so he could play the role of solving their problems. No one believed Hitler was guilty of these crimes until after the fact.

Then it was too late.

Today, these gun banners are doing the opposite of what our forefathers fought, bled and died to give us.

Dean's column also includes a video [below] suggesting that the Oklahoma City bombing and the Columbine shooting (among others) were similarly staged.

Bradlee Dean, doubles down on awards, and is today’s NFTOS’ biggest asshat and the world’s worst person of the day.

NFTOS

Don't insult the American Talibans [NRA]! Them folk are Freedomfighters!

The NRA has proven itself with its fearless leaders press conference - that they should not have a seat at the table when it comes to negotiating gun laws and gun violence.

After remaining completely silent in the week following the massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, the National Rifle Association (NRA) held a press conference in Washington D.C. on Friday to call for more guns in schools and blame the media for glorifying violence, while demonizing gun owners.

Below are the 11 craziest statements from NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre’s prepared remarks:

1 Gun-free schools zones “tell every insane killer in America that schools are their safest place to inflict maximum mayhem with minimum risk.”

2 “There exists in this country a callous, corrupt and corrupting shadow industry that sells, and sows, violence against its own people.

3 “[V]iolent crime is increasing again for the first time in 19 years! Add another hurricane, terrorist attack or some other natural or man-made disaster, and you’ve got a recipe for a national nightmare of violence and victimization.”

4 “We need to have every single school in America immediately deploy a protection program proven to work —and by that I mean armed security.”

5 “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. Would you rather have your 911 call bring a good guy with a gun from a mile away … or a minute away?”

6 “And throughout it all, too many in our national media … their corporate owners … and their stockholders … act as silent enablers, if not complicit co-conspirators.”

7 “Then there’s the blood-soaked slasher films like ‘American Psycho’ and ‘Natural Born Killers’ that are aired like propaganda loops on Splatterdays and every day, and a thousand music videos that portray life as a joke and murder as a way of life.”

8 “In a race to the bottom, media conglomerates compete with one another to shock, violate and offend every standard of civilized society by bringing an ever-more-toxic mix of reckless behavior and criminal cruelty into our homes — every minute of every day of every month of every year.”

9 “Through vicious, violent video games with names like Bulletstorm, Grand Theft Auto, Mortal Kombat and Splatterhouse. And here’s one: it’s called Kindergarten Killers. It’s been online for 10 years. How come my research department could find it and all of yours either couldn’t or didn’t want anyone to know you had found it?”

10 “Isn’t fantasizing about killing people as a way to get your kicks really the filthiest form of pornography?”

11 "This is the beginning of a serious conversation. We won't be taking any questions."

There exists in this country a callous, corrupt group, a corrupting shadow industry that sells, and sows violence against its own people.

Readers, do you remember when the NRA guys said Trayvon Martin should have had his own gun? Me neither.

Here's looking at you, NRA. The NRA, this months worst organization in the world.

THAT''S FOX"D UP

RANDY LINN FAX NEWS FOLLOWER

Surprise, angry old white man watches Faux News and commits hate crime. An Indiana man has been convicted of setting fire to a mosque in Ohio. He had told the judge prior to being found guilty that he committed the crimes because Fox News and right wing hate radio had convinced him that “most Muslims are terrorists.”

Does anyone else enjoy the irony that Faux news blames violence on video games without proof, yet there's proof here that Faux news leads people to violent behavior?

The FCC should require the cable channel to display in their scroll; A disclaimer stating:
"The people and views presented in this television program are purely fictional, any coincidence with real people or real events is completely unintentional and coincidental".

This is your mind on Fux Ewes readers, don' let your mind be caught on Fixed Noise!

GOT MILK?

GOT MILK?

Stop the Presses! I am probaly one of the biggest milk drinkers in the land, and if the beltway doesn't settle this fiscal cliff nonsense soon, I'll be paying what for milk?

House Republicans let the five-year farm bill expire at the end of September without a new law to replace the massive measure covering billions of dollars in programs, including food stamps and agriculture subsidies. The Senate passed its own bipartisan, 10-year farm bill in June, and House Democrats and farm state Republicans attempted to force the House to consider a bill to replace it. But the GOP leadership steadfastly refused to vote on it.

As a result, milk prices could jump as high as $6 to $8 per gallon after Jan. 1, when the government will revert to following antiquated 1949 regulations without a farm bill in place:
Under the current program, the government sets a minimum price to cover dairy farmers’ production costs. If the market price drops below that, the government buys dairy products from farmers to buoy prices and increase demand. Since milk prices have remained above that minimum price in recent years, dairy farmers usually do better by selling their products commercially rather than to the government.

But if 1949 rules go into effect, the government would be required to buy dairy products at around $40 per hundredweight — roughly twice the current market price — to drive up the price of milk to cover dairy producers’ cost.

“It would be bad for consumer demand in the long run,” said Chris Galen, a spokesman for the National Milk Producers Federation, which represents more than 32,000 dairy farmers.

In the short term, farmers would see a windfall by selling to the government at a higher price, but as the New York Times reports, that would lead to higher prices in stores and less milk available for manufacturing butter and cheese. “I don’t think customers and food processors are going to pay double what they are paying now for dairy products,” said Dean Norton, a dairy farmer and president of the New York Farm Bureau.

Members of the House Agriculture Committee say they will go back to work on a new five-year farm bill in the new congressional session.

THE BULLY PULPIT SPEAKS

According to the National Gun Huggers ASS [NRA], guns don't kill people, Mortal Kombat kills people.! What a bunch of asshats, literally!

It's a special kind of tea bagger logic when the solution to stopping children from becoming victims of gun violence is to have them guarded by people with guns.

It's a special kind of tea bagger logic when the solution to stopping people from becoming victims of gun violence is to remove video games and movies which feature violence from circulation.

Other first world countries don't have guards at every school. They have the same movies and the same video games.

So, one would assume the NRA is saying that people who are deranged, evil, and possessed by voices and driven by demons....... are only found in America?

Kudos, Mr. LaPierre, you have proven yet again that The American Taliban is dumber than a box of rocks.

According to statistics from 2009-2010, there are approx 99,000 public schools in the nation. If you only hire one armed guard for each school, and you only pay them 30K a year in salary, that's three billion in salary costs alone. Not counting benefits and administrative costs, not counting the obvious need for more than one officer in most schools, and not taking into account that it's an unrealistic idea to begin with.

PROTESTERS AT NRA PRESS

It was hard to tell at times whether Wayne LaPierre was serious or has become a spectacular performance artist, making a dramatic statement about the absurdity of the NRA's increasingly twisted worldview.

National Gun Huggers ASSociation [NRA] and Wayne LaPierre today's worst group/person in the world!

IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT

The countdown to the apocalypse is on.

We’re just hours away from Dec. 21, 2012, the date that the ancient Mayan Long Count calendar allegedly marked as the end of an era that would reset the date to zero and signal the end of humanity.

With the end of the world just hours away, what will I decide for the last supper?

So much to do and such little time. The boss is worried about which meetings I shall attend tomorrow, I tell him no worries the world is ending. He didn’t see the humor – but I was being quite serious.

When the world ends, do I bend over and kiss my sweet ass goodbye? Do I worry about clean underwear? Do I ask the neighbors to keep an eye on the house while I am away? Do I stop the mail from being delivered? Do I turn off the water running to the crib? Do I make my bed? What should be my first words to GOD, “thanks for creating GOPers, we needed the laughs”? What I should I wear to the pearly gates? Are shorts and a t-shirt acceptable for judgment day or is this a black tie affair?

Have a great evening readers and we will see you all tomorrow.

"FEMINIZED SETTING" TO BLAME FOR NEWTOWN MASS MURDERS

You can never predict what the American Taliban will say, or put too print. I have heard many outlandish and absurd things from these troglodytes, but the prattle below even baffles me. There is actually someone more stupid than Megan McArdle, now enters Charlotte Allen.

If there were fewer women and more “male aggression” in Sandy Hook Elementary School, the massacre there never would have taken place, according to a contribution to a leading conservative magazine.

National Review, whose in-house editorial suggested Newtown was the price of the Second Amendment, published a piece on Wednesday from anti-feminist Charlotte Allen suggesting the reason the shooter was able to kill so many students was because Newtown was a “feminized setting:”
There was not a single adult male on the school premises when the shooting occurred. In this school of 450 students, a sizeable number of whom were undoubtedly 11- and 12-year-old boys (it was a K–6 school), all the personnel — the teachers, the principal, the assistant principal, the school psychologist, the “reading specialist” — were female. There didn’t even seem to be a male janitor to heave his bucket at Adam Lanza’s knees. Women and small children are sitting ducks for mass-murderers. The principal, Dawn Hochsprung, seemed to have performed bravely. According to reports, she activated the school’s public-address system and also lunged at Lanza, before he shot her to death. Some of the teachers managed to save all or some of their charges by rushing them into closets or bathrooms. But in general, a feminized setting is a setting in which helpless passivity is the norm. Male aggression can be a good thing, as in protecting the weak — but it has been forced out of the culture of elementary schools and the education schools that train their personnel. Think of what Sandy Hook might have been like if a couple of male teachers who had played high-school football, or even some of the huskier 12-year-old boys, had converged on Lanza.

Where to begin on this one? First, contrary to what Allen wrote, there was a male custodian on campus. According to NBC News, he acted heroically. And presumably, he did not just “heave his bucket” at the knees of a heavily armed killer.

Second, women can’t throw buckets? Really? And as an aside to that: Does Allen really believe that a bucket is any kind of match for a semiautomatic weapon? The absurdity of this tea baggers statement is asinine, and her intelligence quota is breathtakingly mind numbing!

Third, Allen seems to forget that in numerous other mass shootings—Aurora, Colo., in July, Tucson, Ariz., last year and at Virginia Tech in 2007, to name a few—men were also present. So it’s not just women and small children who are “sitting ducks for mass murderers” as Allen says, it’s everyone.

Moreover, as The Nation’s Jessica Valenti points out, Allen’s article is completely disrespectful to the bravery the female Sandy Hook staffers exhibited to save the lives of their students.

To lesson the bravery of these women with callous disingenuous vernacular, is both repulsive and disgusting - and as unfortunate as it is, it is the American Taliban the we have come to know all to well.

Charlotte Allen, Today's worst person in the world!

NRA: NOT REALLY AMERICAN

AMERICANS PROTEST THE NRA

The bully pulpit has spoken after several days of silence. The National Rifle Association has come out from hiding (sort of) for the first time since a gunman killed 26 people, including 20 children, in Newtown, Connecticut.

The most powerful lobbying group in America had been utterly silent for four full days about Friday’s massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Any time a mass murder occurs in our country, the gun toting enthusiast go into psycho mode, and often hide behind the second amendment, and as Ed Shultz of MSNBC said last night, "this tactic doesn't cut it anymore"!

New York cities mayor Michael Bloomberg went on Meet the Press today and told Obama he should skirt Congress and the Constitution and take executive action against firearms owners in the United States. I agree! Bloomberg continued: “It’s time for the president, I think, to stand up and lead and tell this country what we should do — not go to Congress and say, ‘What do you guys want to do?’ This should be his number one agenda. He’s president of the United States".

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

The Second Amendment to the US constitution is a fossil, preserving antiquated concerns that have no relevance to the modern world. The second amendment allowed for "muskets", not semi automatic assault rifles, nor pistols with large clips. We need to change this antiquated amendment ASAP!

The US Constitution develops over time, and as circumstances change, it should be reinterpreted in the light of those circumstances.

Any attempt to ban private ownership of firearms would require a constitutional amendment, and I don't see much likelihood of that, no matter how many schoolchildren die.

The question to consider is the degree to which the rights of the Second Amendment can be limited, because the Bill of Rights is not absolute. Libel law, for example, limits free speech, and I doubt that if Aztecs were still among us they could persuade the courts that human sacrifice was permissible as free exercise of religious belief.

You cannot legally take a car onto the road without demonstrating to the state that you are proficient to operate it without presenting a hazard to others. If we were in a sane Union, we would be able to discuss what reasonable limitations might be imposed on ownership of semiautomatic weapons, assault rifles, and other ordnance.

But, as we are all aware, we have not behaved much like a sane Union in recent years.

Yes Tea baggers, I am in fact, one of those liberals who would not mind if every handgun and assault weapon in the United States not in custody of the military and police were melted down into slag and dropped into the nearest shit hole. Please attend to the above before commenting in Red Dawn-inspired hysteria that Democrats are conspiring with POTUS the Antichrist to disarm you.

Call me crazy readers, but I think the right to own a gun is trumped by the right not to be shot by one.

WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH

Westboro Baptist Church Spreading There Love

While I want to jam home the problem of 300 million weapons that exist in our country, I need to take time to hit another set of douche bags, and these oxygen thief's are better known as the Westboro Baptist Church.

Finally, a group who despises these assclowns more than I.

The hacking collective known as Anonymous renewed their war on the Westboro Baptist Church today. After the haters from the infamous church posted their intentions to picket the funerals of the twenty children killed in the shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School, Anonymous responded by re-posting the personal and professional information for members of the church on the Internet. Now the general public can contact the church members directly and tell them what they think about people who would desecrate the funerals of murdered children.

Westboro Baptist Church has been irritating Americans for years with venom filled message about their demented version of God. According to the many closely related and intermarried members of the Phelps family who make up the majority of the congregation of the so-called church, God enjoys killing children and soldiers. They constantly proclaim God hates homosexuals and plans to destroy America for not following the Westboro Baptist Church’s twisted version of Christianity. The incredible obsession with homosexuality expressed by Fred and family seems to many as a sure fire case of “thou dost protest too much.”

Anonymous has been after the Westboro Baptist Church for several months now, hacking their websites repeatedly. Recently, they accused the church of creating a fake letter from the hacking group in order to trick other hackers into attacking the website. Anonymous warned their supporters the church planned to harvest internet addresses and sue people. Suing people is apparently the primary activity of the Westboro Baptist Church when they aren’t screaming hate at funerals.

Of course, Westboro denied the charges and taunted Anonymous as incompetent hackers. They claimed their website was protected by God. Big mistake. A few days later, while a Westboro spokeswoman was boasting about how the church foiled Anonymous on a radio talk show, an Anonymous spokesman called in and hacked the church’s website in real time on the air.

Hopefully saner heads will prevail and nothing terrible will occur if the Westboro Baptist Church shows up in Newtown, Connecticut. The State Police made the extraordinary decision to assign a trooper to each of the victim’s families to prevent unwelcome idiots from tormenting them and to protect their privacy.

It is hard to imagine what kind of person would attend the funerals for these children and promote the hate filled message of the Phelps family and their followers. While we certainly do not condone illegal activity, it is hard not to root for Anonymous as they take it to these sad, pathetic excuses for human beings from the Westboro Baptist Church. If the Church’s website is offline forever, it wouldn’t be a moment too soon for me and most Americans.

Below is the note and voice message sent to the church.

Hello, Westboro Baptist Church.

Allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Anonymous.

As you may not have acknowledged our existence, we, on the other-hand, have recognized yours. We have seen your depraved methods of disseminating your message of hate throughout The United States of America. We have witnessed you defaming the memories of those who sacrificed themselves for the security of our nation, disrupting the peace of the educational environment within high schools and universities, breeding hatred within the fragile minds of your own next of kin, desecrating the name of God by protesting in the proximity of churches and synagogues, and mangling the biblical text to conform in accordance with your malevolent cause.

Your pseudo-faith is abhorrent, and your leaders, repugnant. Your impact and cause is hazardous to the lives of millions and you fail to see the wrong in promoting the deaths of innocent people. You are self-appointed servants of God who rewrite the words of His sacred scripture to adhere to your prejudice. Your hatred supersedes your faith, and you use faith to promote your hatred.

Since your one-dimensional thought protocol will conform not to any modern logic, we will not debate, argue, or attempt to reason with you. Instead, we have unanimously deemed your organization to be harmful to the population of The United States of America, and have therefore decided to execute an agenda of action which will progressively dismantle your institution of deceitful pretext and extreme bias, and cease when your zealotry runs dry. We recognize you as serious opponents, and do not expect our campaign to terminate in a short period of time. Attrition is our weapon, and we will waste no time, money, effort, and enjoyment, in tearing your resolve into pieces, as with exposing the incongruity of your distorted faith.

Anonymous possesses a plethora of information within our network about the many divisions of Christianity and numerous other religious doctrines. Many of us are versed in the biblical text, and we can identify each and every of your violations of scripture. You abuse the Holy Bible which you do not fully comprehend and know not of the thousands of authors to impose upon other people when you can simply coalesce with your loved ones and live in the manner you deem plausible. You engage in reciprocal fornication with another man and preach adultery as a sin. You, Shirley Lynn Phelps-Roper violated Deuteronomy 5:18. As a result, your son Sam is the living, breathing proof of your act of simple loneliness. Simply put, it takes not a genius to realize an arrogant woman's loose moral string, and its predilection to progressively wither and fray.

From the time you have received this message, our attack protocol has past been executed and your downfall is underway. Do not attempt to delude yourselves into thinking you can escape our reach, for we are everywhere, and all-seeing, in the same sense as God. We are a body of individuals who fight for a purpose higher than self, and seek to bring the malevolent intent of the malefactors to light.

We will not allow you to corrupt the minds of America with your seeds of hatred. We will not allow you to inspire aggression to the social factions which you deem inferior. We will render you obsolete. We will destroy you. We are coming.

Everyone is equal.
We are Anonymous.
We are Legion.
We do not Forgive.
We do not Forget.
Expect us.

Also to note, the KKK has also planned to conduct a counter protest of the church as well when they arrive in CT. When the KKK steps in as the voice of reason, you know you are dealing with the bottom-of-the-barrel crazy!

THE NRA IS THE AMERICAN BULLY PULPIT

THE AMERICAN BULLY PULPIT IS THE NRA

Gun advocates need to stop hiding behind the Second Amendment after every time mass shootings like this occur, and we need to impose upon the nation’s lawmakers to recognize changes going on in our country - and to get serious about cracking down on guns.

Lets be real readers, the men responsible for drafting and writing the Constitution themselves owned slaves, and by modern standards - they would certainly be considered not very tolerant men.

Times they are a changing in these here United States, and as attitudes change, lawmakers need to recognize this. Both sides of the isle, all politicians need to stop listening to the NRA Bully Pulpit, AKA the gun lobbyist and start seriously addressing the issue of gun control.

In a perfect world, for our system (Democracy) to work we need a transparent forum where the public can be assured that issues are debated fairly and reasonably; where those who’s job it is to study, investigate and inform are free from threat or retribution; and, we need a government who is unafraid and will consider all the evidence – wherever it may lead. Unfortunately, we live in the real world where the NRA, the bullies in the American political schoolyard, have stymied dialogue, intimated policy makers (current and future) and corrupted our electoral system almost beyond recognition.

That is axiomatic and only the most strident and extreme gun zealots would argue with this characterization of the NRA’s pernicious effect on our body politic. But now, as if we needed more, we have fresh evidence of the deleterious impact the bullies have had on even just the studying of the effect of the proliferation of guns in our society.

You can buy an unlimited number of guns in Arizona. You can buy gun parts piece by piece in any part of the country and put one together without ever having a to be exposed to a waiting period or a background check.

Loopholes in laws exist everywhere, acquiring guns is know different. Gun show loop holes have to be closed, period!

I was thinking while sitting at my desk right after this event, and one failed attempt at a shoe bomb, and we all take off our shoes at the airport; 31 school shootings since Columbine, and no change in our regulations of guns! Why is this you ask, because of "The American Bully Pulpit" AKA The National Rifle Association. Until we stand up to these bullies, we shall ever never escape the chains of unregulated gun laws.

If your first reaction to this horrible act or any shooting is to think or say; "Oh shit, Obama and the socialist liberals are going to try to take our guns and second amendments away" - then your priorities as a human being suck at best, and your mentality pretty much makes you as f*&ked up as the shooter himself!

At a minimum: If food stampers have to take drug tests to get the stamps, then people whom want to buy a gun should have to take and pass a psychological evaluation!

The only good news is that the best antidote to NRA-style contemptuous behavior and manipulation of our political system is exactly what our Founders (at least some of them) envisioned: a informed, engaged citizenry. If and when we actually turn on the light, the political cockroaches, the NRA, and those whom hide behind their second amendment rights, shall scurry back into the darkness, to never ever be heard from, or feared from again.

I would close with: "Dear Gun Toting Second Amendment Holy Roller Internet People: Maybe choose another day to make pro-gun statements. Sincerely, Good Taste"

**David Gregory of Meet The Press called 31 people in congress who support guns to come on his show this am. Not one would go on his show!

FIVE BULLSHIT TALKING POINTS FROM THE GUN TOTING LOBBYISTS

Average American Weapons Of Mass Destruction

America is probably in for another debate over gun regulation after the slaughter at Sandy Hook Elementary School left 27 (mostly children) dead.

Below are five bullshit stories that we often hear from the bully pulpit [NRA] and the right to bear arm freaks!

MYTH #1: More guns don’t lead to more murders. A survey by researchers at the Harvard University School of Public Health found strong statistical support for the idea that, even if you control for poverty levels, more people die from gun homicides in areas with higher rates of gun ownership. And despite what gun advocates say, countries like Israel and Switzerland don’t disprove the point.

MYTH #2: The Second Amendment prohibits strict gun control. While the Supreme Court ruled in D.C. v. Heller that bans on handgun ownership were unconstitutional, the ruling gives the state and federal governments a great deal of latitude to regulate that gun ownership as they choose. As the U.S. Second Court of Appeals put it in a recent ruling upholding a New York regulation, “The state’s ability to regulate firearms and, for that matter, conduct, is qualitatively different in public than in the home. Heller reinforces this view. In striking D.C.’s handgun ban, the Court stressed that banning usable handguns in the home is a ‘policy choice[]‘ that is ‘off the table,’ but that a variety of other regulatory options remain available, including categorical bans on firearm possession in certain public locations.”

MYTH #3: State-level gun controls haven’t worked. Scholars Richard Florida and Charlotta Mellander recently studied state-to-state variation in gun homicide levels. They found that “[f]irearm deaths are significantly lower in states with stricter gun control legislation.” This is backed up by research on local gun control efforts and cross-border gun violence.

MYTH #4: We only need better enforcement of the laws we have, not new laws. In fact, Congress has passed several laws that cripple the ability for current gun regulations to be enforced the way that they’re supposed to. According to researchers at the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research, a series of federal laws referred to as the Tiahrt amendments “limit public access to crime gun trace data, prohibit the use of gun trace data in hearings, pertaining to licensure of gun dealers and litigation against gun dealers, and restrict ATF’s authority to require gun dealers to conduct a physical inventory of their firearms.” Other federal laws “limited the ATF compliance inspections” and grant “broad protections from lawsuits against firearm manufacturers and retail sellers.”

MYTH #5: Sensible gun regulation is prohibitively unpopular. Not necessarily. As the New Republic’s Amy Sullivan reported after the series of mass shootings this summer, a majority of Americans would prefer both to enforce existing law more strictly and pass new regulations on guns when given the option to choose both rather than either/or. Specific gun regulations are also often more popular than the abstract idea.

The time for talk and debate is over, its time for the reduction on numbers of weapons American's can own. If we require food-stampers to urinate for their right to eat and feed their families, its time to require that all potential gun owners test and pass a psychological medical exam. This would be just the beginning for the "right to bear an arm" holy rollers!

Get ready second amendment enthusiasts, your rights as you know it is about to change, and rightly so! I just wish you gun toters where as gung-ho about serving your country as you are about being able to carry a weapon - and making sure you country has better healthcare, but as most sane American's know, you selfish "patriots" are all about you!

In case your folks lost your spine, your compassion, your Christianity, your mind, 20 kids under the age of 7 died because a mental patient got access to Weapons of Mass Destruction, weapons purchased legally might I add. If this is not a problem to you, and doesn't make you question your countries gun laws, then you are just as f*&cked up as Adam Lanza!
